So you believe that Ortiz was putting more pressure on Floyd then Hatton or DLH? And at what point in the fight did Floyd resort to sticking and moving?

I just read the OP, and seriously, 90% of the time I can't tell if someone is being serious with a thread or trolling on this forum.

Oh yes. Maybe not more than ODLH was very early in the fight, but definitely more than Hatton. Ortiz is a lot stronger and a bigger puncher than Hatton, definitely a different level of mauling.

Floyd didn't resort to sticking and moving before the fight ended, he was planting his feet and launching bombs but they weren't affecting Ortiz all that much. Floyd would have probably tried that for another round or so, then he would have started sticking and moving rather than wear himself out.

Hatton was on Mayweather every second of the fight.

The only time Ortiz got to maul Mayweather was win he got him to the ropes twice in the 4th round. He didnt go to the body. He didnt grab Mayweather, pull him tug him, or lean on him. He mostly just swung wildly and missed.

Ortiz eye was already swelling. I dont see any reason for Floyd to have to stick and move. When has Floyd every been known to get tired?

Hatton wasn't effective though, I never got the sense that PBF was bothered by him at all. I got a different impression with Ortiz and I think the difference is just the bull strength of Ortiz. Hatton couldn't push Floyd around and bully him. If Floyd DIDN'T decide to stick and move, so much the better. I would have liked to see him going toe to toe for three or four rounds even better. Again, that's why I didn't like the way it ended. I can pretty much guarantee you though, that if Floyd had continued to land clean and Ortiz' legs continued not to buckle, Floyd would have changed his gameplan.

If it wasn't shaping up to be a good fight, I wouldn't have given a **** how the fight ended.

    This was effective to you?

Besides the first punch that lands. What did Ortiz do that was effective in this exchange? He misses wildly and Floyd laughs at him? What was Ortiz doing that could have possibly tired Floyd out? Floyd is a master at making you miss on the ropes. One of his things he likes to do is let the other wail away at him on the ropes, while he picks off their punches, and the other guy gets tired?

How is that any different from this

    or this?

Floyd never buckled Mosley. Floyd lands punches, his opponents eats punches, they bull rush Floyd, dont land anything, rinse and repeat. When has this not been what goes on in most Floyds fights?

It was shaping up to be a Gatti style ass whipping. Thats what we missed out. Ortiz was not going to be competitive.

He headbutted Floyd because he got frustrated he couldnt hit Floyd. Point blank.

Slugger, you're making **** up! I never heard mention of FM using elbows in this fight. Not from his trainer or Ortiz himself. The fact is Ortiz felt, going into the fight , that it was his destiny to beat FM. He honestly believed his will would nullify FM's skill. When VO jumped in the ring, he quickly realized he was in there with a fighter with skills that come once in a generation. Although he tried his best, it wasn't good enough. VO got frustrated and fouled. That was VO's undoing, because he fouled a thinking fighter and when FM saw the chance to retaliate, he did and put VO asleep.

I'm tired of ppls saying ortiz was just coming on In the 4th its ridiculous...Floyd was outboxing him the whole fight straight right hand leads was closing his eye and neutralizing his whole offense ortiz just wasn't disciplined enough to be in the same ring as mayweather

He headbutt him because Mayweather was clowning his ass in the ring.. You notice he headbutt him immediately after he missed and Mayweather put both hands on his shoulders? Painfully obvious, how can one argue differently?

edit: hahaha It looks like Mayweather pushed him back to smile at him in the middle of his rally.. I'm sure Ortiz was pissed.. Mayweather got in his head, if it continued after the headbutt Ortiz wouldn't have done too much more IMO.
