I think Floyd would be an easier fight for Cotto then Margarito

I'm not saying Cotto gets the W on either fight but it seems to me that Cotto has shown that he can handle really slick boxers, even when they have power (his boxing ability, power and body shots do him really well in this area) while having more trouble with fighters that throw a lot of hard punches (Torres). Margarito has not only the chin to stand up to Cotto, but definitely the punches to hurt him.

    What are your thought?

Much easier, IMO. Floyd won't be throwing 100 punches a round and towering over Cotto like Margo would.

Margarito may have a solid beard, but Cotto's body attack can wear just about anyone down.

ah NO floyd is NO Gomez and would not be there for cotto to hit , and he would not let cotto get away with leaving his hand down.

Cotto was able to do what ever he wanted with a limited fighter..

Judah was Cotto's hardest fight by admission. NOT SHANE> Shane is not a slick fighter. Cotto would outbox Margarito who is tough as nails but the fact that he gets punched does not take away from the fact he got punched. Same as the Johnson/Dawson fight. They both cracked each other with clean flush shots..Dawson landed way more, but when Dawson got hit he showed more effect. BUt Johnson got cracked a million times and walked through it. Guess what,,,,,,, you still got ****ing punched.

You talking like Gomez is the best fighter Cotto has fought.

Cotto has shown that he can handle slick fighter very well. Look at Judah, Mosley, quintana ect. Floyd seems to have this "stay against the ropes approach" in his last few fights and I doubt if that would work against Cotto.

He does well against slick boxers like Malignaggi and Judah, but Mayweather is a far more complete fighter than Cotto has faced. Mayweather can use his feet, fight on the inside (unlike Malignaggi), great counter-puncher, and is extremely intelligent in the ring (unlike Judah). Mayweather would definitely be Cotto's toughest fight.

IMO, Cotto is far too technically advanced for Margarito (although it is a nice clash of styles). I would have Cotto a comfortable favorite in the fight. Assuming Cotto-Mayweather happens next year when Floyd is 32, I would give Cotto about a 40% chance against Mayweather (with the odds going up as more time passes by).

Hopefully with performances like this (even though it was a complete mismatch like Gatti/Mayweather) and soon to be destructions of Margarito and Mayoraga...we will FINALLY have Cotto-Mayweather, built with an absurd amount of anticipation.

As much as I dislike him as a person, Mayweather is very smart when it comes to ring strategy. He wouldn't be stupid enough to keep going to the ropes against a brilliant body puncher like Cotto. I'd imagine that he would go for a pure 'hit and run' style, like the Baldomir match.

Margo throws 140 punches a round and has an iron chin... That would be a lot tougher on Cotto then Floyd IMO. again not saying Cotto gets the W in either fight but styles make fights and Margos style is all wrong for Cotto IMHO. Big probs to the winner in any scenerio.

Shane is not really a slick fighter, he just has great handspeed. Judah demonstrated how to attack Cotto straight up the middle, but Judah is not the smartest fighter in the world and cracks under pressure. Floyd can't be compared to Quintana.

Cotto wouldn't be fighting a "slick fighter", he would be fighting Mayweather, a more complete fighter. A smarter fighter. Definitely a tougher fight.

I think a lot of you guys are still high on Cotto from his win tonight. Cotto does not beat Floyd, sorry.

Don't think Floys is faster then judah, he is most definitely smarter but he doesn't have Judah power either. DLH definitely got to Floyds body and it showed in Floyds face and that was an old DLH.

Again not saying he gets the W but soemthing to think about.
