For Heavyweights Foreman is definently top 3. Shavers may have hit harder though, and Tuas left hook was perhaps more powerful than anything George had. Liston had a powerful punch but not like Foreman, he's a slight step below in terms of pure one punch power

Foreman overall probably had the most power in the history of the sport.

IMO, only Shavers' right hand and Liston's jab are considered harder punches than Foremans.

I was watching Holyfield vs Foreman the other night and the commentator said Foreman had said that Cooney hit him harder than anyone ever had. I was a bit surprised by that.

That's the way Foreman is always like. He always downplays himself, and wants to give more credit to everyone else. The way Foreman KO Frazier and Norton, I think the thread maker got it right. Lifting Frazier up like that.

Everyone always asks what match up would have the most interest in the history of boxing. The answer to me is Lennox versus Foreman of the 70s. I would pay $5000 to watch that fight, (and that's watch it from my home too).

Sonny Liston was probably the better puncher.

I'd rather have Lennox-Ali to see who the true H2H greatest was, but Lennox-Foreman would just be sick.

    I agree.

    Ol' George was being modest.

I read somewhere that Shavers hit 1600 pounds on the bag. The hardest hitter of all time.

Now if he only knew how to box even a LITTLE...

Ive suspected this for a long time. One good shot form George is all it seemed to take and it didnt seem to have to travel very far or look that good and guys were helpless. Thats all he had at the end power. Old Fat and slow tangling with and beating men half his age. He has be in the top 3 if not the very hardest hitter ever.

Yeah I know what you mean that punch he hit Michael Moorer with did'nt look sharp and was'nt winded up at all but still managed to have Moorer laid out.
