It wasn't, Ryder just beat his ass. As far as Canelo goes, I generally agree, but Callum's long ass straight right will find it's mark a few times, and I have a feeling he'll try a little harder to land it than Kovalev.

Danny made him miss just as much.

Now I know compubox isn't accurate but it does say that Canelo landed 188/466 and Jacobs landed at 131/649. I was rooting for Jacobs to win too, Canelo has really become something special.

Triple G historically walks through the kind of B-side opponents Smith has struggled with. Any Smith success would be down to age and nothing more.

Smith makes a meal out of most of his opponents. I'm not sold on him yet

I didn't buy that after I watched it live, when I recently re-watched it, it confirmed what I thought the first time. Danny was making him miss all night long.

Canelo was doing it with way better style though.

    True.

But Smith hasn't even faced anyone on 38 year old Triple G's level.

I know Groves is the obvious riposte, but I firmly believe he was both dead at the weight and shopworn

Sadly, he makes a scene out of his defense. Whereas GGG and Danny are just as good but are far more subtle, and don't get the credit they deserve for it.

P4P skillwise Deveyechenko is better than Smith, but Smith hits harder imo. I don't think Smith hit Ryder with a super clean hard punch @CST80 you probably watched the fight again so you would know. Smith will definitely land his best right flush on GGG"s chin, and I don't know if he can take it anymore.

Hardly any of his power shots landed clean, with the exception of a few rights to the stomach. And yeah I would be lying if I said it wasn't concerned with Golovkin's apparent diminishing ability to take a punch.

Good call. And GGG would be fighting a tougher fighter than Canelo fought in an aging Kov. I think GGG would take Smith out in devastating fashion.
