I think Gonzalez and Estrada might be in the top ten flyweight head to head ever?

This is one of those ideas that just, naw, and it gets bumped after Gonzlaez loses to Viloria but it's just an idea and i'm just exploring it.

At first I thought Gonzalez might be a little too small but actually that's bull****. He's as big or bigger than most of the ATG types he'd be up against.

So what do you think? Is it possible that right now in "dying boxing" we've got two fighters in the same weight division who are likely to meet who are also among the very, very, very best - let's say 6-8 best - that there's ever been at the weight?

    Or too soon to say?

Or never give it up until they retire?

    Or stfu ydksab?

    Or what?

They need to **** off? You feel the same way about Mayweather and Pacquiao? Or are you counting that debacle those two peeled off?

Gonzalez and Estrada have already met, and they did it in Gonzalez's prime with Estrada probably very slightly pre-. It was a hurtful, desperate fight, the type that does damage and they are getting a tiny, tiny, tiny minuscule fraction of what Mayweather and Pacquiao got for their glorified spar. But if they don't do it again they can "**** off"?

    Why don't you **** off?

There are a whole bunch of quality flyweights in the division that they could fight while they create enough buzz for a rematch to make them serious money (for flyweights). And every other fight they win against this current Golden Age only adds to their legacy.

Too soon. They have between them about a dozen fights at the weight. Give it a few years, and see what their opponents do.

**** remember when people were hyping up Trinidad as a super mega ATG. I think Gonzalez is about there, Trinidad before Hopkins level. Estrada I'd have to think about.

Look at Flyweight: Wilde, Lynch, Wolgast, Harada, Perez, Canto. That's six guys right there it would be tough to argue over h2h, although Gonzalez is knocking at the door. Let's see him dominate Viloria and at least beat Estrada up here. Then we can talk.

Estrada isn't quite on that level. Gonzalez is though but I still have trouble seeing him vs the ATGs at the weight

    vs Wonjongkam
    vs Donaire
    vs Darchinyan
    vs Too Sharp
    vs Yuri Arbachakov
    vs Sot Chitalada
    vs Canto
    vs Harada
    vs Kingpetch
    vs Perez

I have trouble seeing Gonzalez getting more than 4 wins vs those 10 guys.

But if Estrada moves up to superfly and gets butchered by Inoue and never rebuilds - it's not some sort of disaster for Gonzalez. He's already beaten Estrada. He has that W. If they remain in the same division for 2yrs, say, and don't meet, it starts to become worrying, but hey.

Yeah probably, but aside from that, if Gonzalez were fighting Canto tomorrow I'd pick Gonzalez without a moment's hesitation. That seems a stuck on win to me for Gonzalez. Huge stylistic advantage, huge physical advantage. I don't think it would be that close!

    What does that mean?

Gonzalez might be the best man flyweight and below full stop.

Barring a Wilde hail Mary shot who is gonna beat him? Well loads might but who would be favoured?

Estrada I'm not sure is on the level yet and tbh it's impossible for him to be so: if he beats Gonzalez that kinda stop all Gonzalez hype, if he doesn't he just gonna be an also ran.

I'm not sure it means anything. If Joe Louis fought chris Byrd tomorrow I think he'd lose.

    I think he's a beast though. Jesus.
