the things that make me excited about this fight are how will ricky deal with manny's speed and how will pac deal with ricky's aggression.
i think you are absolutely right...couldn't agree more. i am no hatton basher. i think ricky is an excellent fighter who has improved his bulldog style into something a little more nuanced--but no less intense and mauling--over the last three years or so. that said, the angles manny uses to circle out to the left and right, the lines he uses to dart back in at sharp angles with the lead straight left, the hard, short right hand and, lately, even the right hook. the geometry of it, coupled with the speed and tricky tempo-changes manny shows...hatton's undoing, i fear, is written all too clearly in the broad strokes of the style and technique and physical matchup.
Hatton is a better fighter than Pac-Man at this weight simple as that. All this **** Freddie Roach says should not mean a thing because he said it all before the first Morales fight as well. I think Pac-Man is a better p4p fighter than Hatton but he did just get the right fights at the right times and Marquez has done nothing apart from his fights with Pac-Man to make him no 2 p4p.
are you seriously saying that juan manuel marquez should not be ranked and considered seriously as a pound-for-pound contender? i suppose there is plenty of room to debate whether or not he deserves to be ranked number two behind pacquiao, but...to claim that he hasn't done anything aside from have two close fights with pacquiao is absurd and almost undeniably incorrect. marquez has posted impressive, decisive victories over marco barrera (albeit an over the hill barrera) and rocky juarez and stopped joel casamayor and juan diaz after moving to lightweight. that may not make him number two on the pound-for-pound list, but it certainly ought to put him cleanly in the pound-for-pound discussions. to dismiss those victories seems utterly strange without any further explaination to justify those oversights.
it would have been 20 out for 20 when he fought koysta. i am suprised how much of a favourite pac is with the bookies and "experts" though. it's 50:50 fight and we'll know how it's going to go after a couple of rounds.
Hatton will be walking into Pac's quick, sharp punches. Hatton does not have a strong chin and will be KO'd by the 9th
I see Hatton knocking out Manny in a shocking and surprisingly quick fashion. Bottom line if Hatton doesn't come in drained he will simply be too strong for the current p4p king.
I think Pacman is the better p4p fighter, however Hatton is at his preferred weight. I also believe Pacman is also a bit overrated since beating DLH and Hatton has been underrated since losing to FMJ. It's hard to pick a winner, but I believe Hatton has the edge.
