I didn't say he would beat everyone. Just Wlad. I haven't thought about him fighting other heavies in the division. When he does, maybe I'll think about it then. I just figure Haye has a style that can beat Wlad. Also, props to Tommy V's post. That's pretty much exactly how Haye should approach the fight, but he needs to be extremelly focused and think about counterpunching.
If Wlad can manage to land his punches. As I remember he had a hell of a time landing punches against Ibriganov, who didn't even show up to fight.
Nobody is saying Haye is going to destroy everyone. People like you and WiDDoW make these assumptions just because I happen to be a fan of Haye. I don't think he will destroy everyone. It's probably a 50/50 fight, I might even edge towards Haye, I just happen to think that because of Wlad's tentativeness and vulnerability, with Haye's aggressive and power and speed, he has a very good chance of knocking him out. I think Haye would struggle more with guys like Vitali and Juan Gomez. He would probably lose to Vitali, and could lose to Gomez.
Why does everyone seem to be under the impression that Wlad has such an awful chin? When have you ever seen Wlad knocked out with one punch, which usually defines a glass jaw? His only real KO losses come from the hands of 2 of the hardest punchers in recent memory...there's no shame in getting KO'd by Lamon and Corrie. Look at both of their KO ratios...it looks like most fighters who have faced them have been KO'd. It sounds like herd mentality to me. Wlad by KO in 4 rounds!!
At this point in time Zakman im inclined to say that Haye has a better chin that Wlad. Wlad has been down a total of 12 times in his career ! Which includes getting knocked out by Ross Purrity and an ex-golf player ! Granted I think Haye's chin is shaky and he could be proved to have a glass jaw in Fraudley-esque style. I certainly think Haye is going to get hit, but mostly by jabs as Wlad is reluctant to throw big shots especially against someone with Haye's speed and explosiveness. Haye is gonna land the big bombs, Wlad is gonna land the jabs, and I think thats going to be the difference.
Haye might pull it off. One thing you have to realize is that Haye is a very good counterpuncher. And Monte isn't an easy guy to put away. Wladimir put him down 7 times before the fight was stopped. One lightning bolt from Haye put Barrett down and nearly out. He definately has heavyweight pop.
12 times in how many fights? Besides, how many of those Knockdowns were from shots on his chin? I can recall 3 in the Peter fight that were not from punches...He wasn't seriously hurt at any time during that fight. Also the only time i can remember Wlad being seriously hurt by a punch was against Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster. Do you honestly think that TOS hurt Wlad during their fight at Cesar's Palace?
Klitschko has never been knocked out, only stopped. A glass jaw (like Haye's) is one that gets knocked out and doesn't get back up. Haye will go down, and he will not get back up. You can bet your house on Dr Steelhammer. regards
Haye hasn't ever been knocked out. He's been down less times than Wlad. He's been stopped less times. He's never been stopped due to his inability to take a punch. He's got up everytime he's been knocked down.
Two points: Wladimir generally fights very relaxed, and usually only does what is needed to win, rather than attempting to "rush" into a fight. In addition, Wladimir knocked Barrett out when Barrett was a half decent fighter, not the washed up journeyman Haye fought. regards
really...it's not a higher ratio if you consider the amount of rounds that both fighters have fought. What ratio are you looking at? Quality fighters...the number of Heavyweights both fighters have fought?
