I just think theres something in the fight what pav never seen before.. He be taken to a place where well his not use too and will (just) lost.. Pav is no Joe C .. he aint been around...

I think its the right fight for kelly I think he willl lose it.. but then I dont think he will ever again not cos Hops is beater just hops will teach him so much...

Nothing could make you learn more then fighting hops

He wont look good against him not matter the result.

Im a bit torn on whether this is a good move for Pav or not.

It will be good no matter what.. He wins awesome fantastic.. He loses he would have learned a hell of a lot...

Problem is the fans .. he loses to Hops he better buy undercard tickets (unfortunutly)

Mark my words; As long as Kelly's hands hold up he will knock Hopikins out in 10 or 11 rounds. If he injures the right hand, he will win a wide UD.

its quite possible hopkins beat pavlik actually, he's got the style that would have a chance of beating anyone. Look how close the calzaghe fight was..i'm gonna bet if hopkins will come out as a big underdog on this fight

Sign me up. Hopkins ran Calzage close and Pavlick has less than half Joe's skills.

This is what happens when you fight a fighter like Hopkins...because of the angles and movement he uses, most of the punches you have to throw are off balance, wild, etc. You CANT set your feet against the guy (go watch pretty much ANY of his fights) unless he lets you.

Joe can still throw 700 punches from off balance angles (he is an extremely awkward fighter...its one of his biggest strengths and the thing I underestimated most in the buildup before the fight)...Pavlik cannot...its not his game. Kelly NEEDS to set and throw to be effective. And if he is forced out of that, he is going to lose BADLY.

Hopkins is the WORST possible opponent for Pavlik. Kelly will throw less than HALF what he normally does (over 12 at that)...he has never faced ANYONE who fights like Hopkins does. Not even REMOTELY...prepare to see a CONFUSED and FRUSTRATED Pavlik throughout this fight.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the outcome, but I think we can agree on the fact that BHop is a MUCH better opponent than anyone who was previously mentioned. This fight actually presents a challenge! It also gives Pavlik the opportunity to progress along the learning curve.

Confused and frustrated? I really doubt that. There is absolutely nothing in his history that indicates any inclination to fall apart mentally. Hopkins is a challenge, but Pavlik will be fully prepared.

Agreed....tho Id say other than Calzaghe (not any fault of Pavlik's).

And I was trying to imply he is gonna fall apart so to say...but when a fighter shows you (and hits you from) angles you have never even witnessed before, it will get to you. As I said, if it goes how the two styles dictate it very well could...Kelly is going to be throwing FAR less than he is accustomed to...and missing far more as well. This would frustrate and confuse ANY fighter...

Add in the holding, the hitting during breaks, the use of the head, etc...its gonna be a tough night for Kelly...one like he has never faced previously.

Its tough to rely on history or anything we have seen from Pavlik, because lets be honest, Hopkins poses something different than ANYTHING Pavlik has seen in his history as well.

I still don't understand why in the hell Pavlik signed to fight Bhop.......he is going to look bad win or lose, he's not defending his belts (or getting it done with Abraham), and he won't get much credit if he somehow manages to beat BHop (old, past his prime, etc). I just don't get it......
