I think I know who is being offered to floyd.

Manny? No. He says he is retiring (I don't believe it) plus a rematch could never match the original PPV buy rate no matter how hard they try to promote it.

Golovkin? Despite how much people want to see it, Golovkin is not a draw.

The only possible explanation (besides the whole thing being BS) is that floyd is being offered the winner of Canelo vs Khan for the lineal MW strap.

It is Manny. Manny has said his teams been reaching out to Floyd and trying to get him. Plus, a rematch between those two draws more PPV than Floyd vs anyone else. So yeah.

After how burnt everyone felt by the first match? After how equal parts dull and decisive it was, after so many years of build-up? Even with the shoulder excuse, I kind of doubt it. You can't dress that rematch up as being anything other than more of the same. I mean, it would sell more than Berto and perhaps most other match-ups, but record-setting numbers? Afraid not. That ship has sailed.

Of course a Canelo rematch is even less interesting since Floyd beat him easier than he beat Pac (a shutout, ignoring that one terrible scorecard that gifted the ginger with a MD loss instead of a UD) and I'm not sure holding the lineal MW strap or even coming off victories over Cotto and Khan is enough to make everyone forget that a past-prime Mayweather essentially toyed with a smack-in-his-prime Canelo. :conf

Golovkin would be the forerunner, IMO. (but rumor has it a different ATG has GGG in his scope for a swansong..)

The other two scorecards were 116-112, and 117-111, hardly a shutout. Canelo - Floyd was closer than Pacquiao vs Floyd. Not by much, but in terms of interest Canelo vs Floyd is a bigger fight than Pacquiao vs Floyd since most people see Pacquiao as a shot fighter at this point.

Whereas Canelo is the future of boxing and a much tougher fight for Floyd. Not only that but there was the whole catchweight the first time so a lot of people want to see a legit Floyd vs Canelo fight that they didn’t get the first time. To put it simply, at this stage Pacquiao is a much easier fight for Floyd than Canelo is.

But this is NEW CANELO. Who is still young (unlike pac) and is currently the the MW lineal whether you like it or not. Mayweather vs a Mexican on Cinco de Mayo? Would do great numbers IMO

thats IF he gets past khan.

The other judges were off too but in light of the drawn card they came off looking reasonable.

There wasn't a single clear round for Canelo.

Yeah but usually to hype a rematch they show highlights of the first meeting.

What are they going to show, Canelo lunging and missing and getting countered? :huh

    start off with canelo saying

"I had the ***** to face mayweather early in my career and Ive learned a lot"

then show how he has improved and worked his way back to the top after the mayweather fight and then show the kirkland KO a few times and say Canelo is the first fighter who will learn from mayweather and beat him SMACK BAM throw it on the PAN there ya go fight promoted

There’s quite a few highlights of Canelo hitting Floyd flush while Floyd trying to get out of the way.

This is where I’ll sort of agree with you. Canelo didn’t win rounds clearly vs Floyd, but neither did Floyd. Both fighters essentially fought a boxing chess match where most rounds were even. I thought maybe Floyd won 1 clear round in the whole fight, Canelo won 0 and the rest were even.

It was that sort of a fight, it was a thinking man’s fight that was hard to score.
