Casuals would eat up the shoulder injury excuse, IV excuse, etc if it was sold hard enough. And gotta keep in mind it's the casuals who make PPV big and successful. Hardcores only account for a very small portion. Hardcores wouldn't be fooled, but casuals? Yeah. Keep in mind even 50% of original business would still be the highest PPV either guy could get and set the record as 2nd highest PPV fight behind the first May/Pac bout.

Plus, account for all of Mayweather fans who'd still buy, all of Pacquiao fans who would buy, then the casuals who are sold into the fight... then yes it would. They're still one of the two most famous athletes in the world.
