I think I'd make Juan Francisco Estrada the "fighter of the weekend"

    What do you think?

Frampton was bloody brilliant in a great fight, Gonzalez looked like a total world-beater against the wonderful Yaegashi, but there was just something about the slate-faced out-classing that Estrada put on Segura that makes me wonder.

That uppercut is a thing of beauty; it's the best in the sport right now.

He was untroubled by the hard punches Segura did get across but dealt with most of them before that happened. His punch selection was brilliant and he looked almost as fluid as Gonzalez while coming across as defensively superior against a really good opponent. He was really impressive to me.

    For me it's Gonzalez.

He not only made himself the number 1 fighter in his third division, he also restored pride to the lineage at flyweight.

He is arguably the only man who could have faced Yaegashi that would stop a majority beginning to class Estrada as the top dog at flyweight.

For the first time since Viloria it's now clear who the best is in the division. Also a rematch should be one of the biggest in the sport right now. I say should because there is no where near the prestige, hype and demand in the lower divisions as there should be.

What do you mean about that pride part? Don't you think Yaegashi was a good champ?

Yeah. Segura is all heart. Who was braver out of Segura and Yaegashi? Meaningless question?

It's not so much that. For me when you get a lineal champion who has doubt to his position as the top dog of the division, it renders his championship a bit meaningless and makes hin a bit of a paper champion. Kinda like the MW situation right now.

There was nothing wrong with Yaegashi, but when Viloria went on his great flyweight run there was an argument he should have been seen as number 1. When Estrada out boxed him there was the same argument. All the while the WBC belt was being passed around.

I like a world where the man who beat the man is also the man who is the best in the division, Gonzalez has restored the status quo with regards to that imo.

I think Yaegashi was a good, worthy champion. I understand the point you are making though.

Estrada and Gonzalez, one of these guys is going to be p4p #1 I think.

My problem wasn't with him because he saught good fights. My problem was the situation. Kinda like is say Cotto fought Lee, got beaten and then Lee defended against Golovkin, people would be happy again. That gets more publicity though because it's a bigger division.

when has a flyweight ever been number 1? Never that I'm aware of. That number 2 spot is well up for grabs though.

He was spectacular. Being glossed over a bit is this kid's whiskers. He's taken shots from Viloria, Gonzalez and Segura's—maybe the three hardest hitters in the division—and has hardly flinched. That is, when his opponent can even touch him.

If Gonzalez/Estrada gets made Hershman has to throw that on a HBO undercard. Apparently he's been in talks with Huck he needs to do the same for Fly's and they'e cheaper.

If they want a major US network they aren't headlining thats just how it is. Better to do that then have it not shown at all with the most important fight of the year being on Bien TV or Japanese TV only.

Toy Matsumoto. He destroy former champion and announce himself as big player. He fight Ishida next then world title.

Gonzalez was better than Estrada but not lot in it.
