If Cotto is coming in only 1 pound less than his last fight, then why did Emmanuel Dapidran ask for a catch weight fight period?

In what way? Cotto is the ww champion. Pac is the 2nd best so-called pfp fighter in the world.

Pac doesnt need cotto...Mosley is willing to put his belt up....then Cotto would miss out on his biggest payday and if he won becoming a Mega star

If you have the fight at 147 it becomes a farce with Cotto having too much of A PHYSICAL ADVANTAGE. The fight should be about who has the most talent, skill, heart and gameplan.

If Cotto beats Pac at 147 he will get no credit as he will have won due to physcial attributes.

He will be beating a bloated Pac. The nearer to 140 the more credit Cotto gets.

Everybody seems to be assuming Pac will win. I think everyone is underestimating Cotto.

Sorry, but when you challenge a man after he just fought a top champion in Clottey at 147, you don't ask for a catch weight. Duran came up to 147 and took the title from Sugar. Taking away Cotto's advantage is weak in my eyes. Cotto is supposed to have an advantage, and Pac is supposed to match that with his will and skill.

so? isn't part of making history taking on the challenge? guys like duran did it, and that argument sounds the same like the discussions pre pac-dlh fight. Like i said on my first post before any pac fan disagree with me they should ask theirselves if they have faith in their hero.

And cotto will get credit if he ever wins, at the end of the day its a W on his record.

i saw on the other thread that the cotto fight is cancelled. Thats good, and props for cotto for saying no, he's still young and still has a long career ahead of him.

then how about this. if you think you are too small to face a 147 lb fighter at the ww limit don't look for a fight at ww. stay your ass at 140.

Pac didn't require Oscar to fight at a catchweight, so why Cotto:?? And don't tell me that Oscar was under the 147lb limit, I know that already, I'm sayin he could've come in at 147lbs if he wanted.
