not sure if this one has been mentioned among all of the other joke titles WBC Mundo Hispano light welterweight title :good july 2010 Noe Bolanos vs Carlos Urias where were you when all this went down?
Jesus it's all spanish words in it? is that even a regional sublevel belt anymore? I should try and fight for the WBC Duval county/Greater Northeast Florida tri-state area/ Jimmy's Taco Stand title. At least it has a region in the name.
David "The Destroyer" Lopez recently won the WBC USNBC middleweight title. Now no one is happier to see David with a title than I am, but what the **** does USNBC stand for?
I think it might stand for United States National Boxing Council, but a Mexican won it in Mexicoatsch I'm a big David Lopez fan, but I think this particluar situation really points out the abusrdity of all these regional, national, and "world titles." In the old days things were pretty cut a dried. Win the NABF title, and make a couple strong defenses, and you get yourself a WBC world title shot. Do the same with the USBA title, and you get a WBA shot. Now days everything is so diluted that most titlse are next to meaningless. Doe anyone believe that Pirog, Sturm, or Sylvester is the middleweight champion of the world? Hell no -- we all know it goes Hopkins, Taylor, Pavlik, Martinez. If you're not part of that lineage, you ain't the champ, and never were. Nearly every division is a cluster ****. Middleweight just happens to have an easy to trace lineage. Who is the true world champ at 168? Nobody even ****ing knows!! Most divisions are the same as 168.
All the belts is a joke nowadays. Even if Mcdonalds made a belt today it would at least count as much as the WBA and the WBC. Could be fun watching a Mcdonalds title, I think James Toney wins it.
There used to be a fight on Boxrec that was listed as the "Trailer Park Trash Heavyweight Championship" It has since been changed to the Super Heavyweight Arkansas Championship, or something. Google it...it's for real...I know the guy that "won" the title...and the promoter who did this is pretty well known around these parts.
