So what that Tarver lost to Hopkins, in my book Calzaghe got completely outclassed by Hopkins as well. That does not mean that Calzaghe is better than Tarver.

I so want to believe your postings are all tongue in cheek, but it seems sadly unlikely :-(

Yes, but your book is in braille.

I'm not arguing that Calzaghe is better than Tarver (he clearly is, but arguing it with you is pointless). Hopkins is better than Tarver, therefore Tarver is not number one LHW.

Hopkins was better than Tarver for that fight. Since the fight he won three fights. Since their fight Hopkins won against Winky and lost to Calzaghe. Seems to me that Hopkins fell down and Tarver rose again.

There really is not point trying to explain though, because you have your mind made up. But Joe C. isn't the number 1 LHW, and Tarver has more of a claim to it than Dawson and Erdei.

Who the hell is Andre Dirrel for christ sake? So picking out some American prospect and acting like he's a player at SMW somehow reflects on its quality? The only thing it reflects on is your lack of knowledge regarding any fighter not holding a US passport

No no, Taylor made the right choice. Taylor has the chance to build up his legacy against a new crop of fighters, who are unproven but talented in genuinely exciting fights. Those guys at LHW are suffering from arthritis and are nearing social security :yep

taylor would be a credible calzaghe opponent.
i am pretty sure calzaghe would win, but he is getting older and might have an off night.

but taylor is a good fighter.

he has nice boxing abilty/great size for a middle and good size for a super middle/fast hands/2 handed/power/jab/offense if the fighter comes onto him.

    minus points/
head stationary/his offense is his defense/has to fight at a steady rthem and cannot go up and down the gears without it taking a toll on his stamina.

biggest factor in a fight with calzaghe is not jermains ability its the baggage and x factors he brings in with him.

he is not prepared to throw wild shots and make himself look silly just to get off/he is not prepared to stand his ground for any length of time and exchange but is content to back up.
he IMO is not a natural fighter prepared to give anything and everything to get the win, but is much more conservative, prepared to lose than go for bust.

talent wise he is very good , but the reason i picked pavlik in the first fight is i beleive mentaly pavlik would bite the bullet and walk through him if need be, whereas i never get the expectation that if plan A is not working, implement plan B grit my teeth and walk through whats in front of me.

its why he was average against /wright/ouma/spinks when he had every physical and size advantage he could want , he plays it safe every time

taylor is a fighter who treats boxing as a job , whereas calzaghe and pavlik are clearly fighters who enjoy the sport and are prepared to be hit if it means they can get off with punches and are both willing to go out on there shields and win by any means neccassary.

You take out the leaders of the pack when you want to be the leader of the pride. Taylor could try to take out the top of the LHW division, since Dawson is afraid, and take the mantle and then fend off the young challengers.

There is no name to be made at SMW because that division is nothing but a bunch of washed up MWs and too small/weak LHW.

As for Dirrell I include him because he has actual skill, compared to the likes of Miranda, Pascal (weak chin to a fault), Bute (terrible boxer), and the rest of the garbage in the division. Kessler is a name, but the guy was scared to fight Miranda, which speaks volume.

dirrell is a very classy prospect.
    i am impressed with him.
he can be pressured and can stink the place, but he will still get the win.

the hanshaw fight he showed very good abilty.

but you are right to jump on the poster.
dirrell is not on anyone`s radar at the moment and is a clear case of lack of knowledge on the 168 scene.
direll will be a player but he is not in the picture yet.

The fact that you keep mentioning Miranda and Pascal when discussing top SMWs doesn't exactly indicate that you know whereof you speak though.

Get back to us when either of them fight a top 30 SMW.

So Kessler the #1 fighter in the division ducks Miranda and I can't call him a force in the division? Cut it out man.

Miranda, Kessler, Andrade, and Bute are the cream of the SMW crop and that is ****ing pathetic.

To be a force in a division you generally need to beat someone, not fail to get a fight with someone who pursues a belt instead, and then turn it down when it becomes available again.

Miranda has beaten one guy who Carl Froch knocked out three years ago and one guy who Peter Manfredo beat last year.

Make excuses for the Viking Coward if you want. Miranda is a player in the SMW division, whether you like it or not and Kessler seeing that agreed to fight him and then backed out to fight for a paper title.

Taylor doesn't have the boxing IQ or stamina in order to beat a guy like Calzaghe.
Taylor would start off strong possibily winning the first 4 rounds or so then Joe will figure out Taylor he will start to fade and Joe wins a clear UD.

Damn it Pimp! You made me agree with you twice in 2 days! Calzaghe would not walk through JT. He'd be in for a long night, but Taylor's stamina would let him down by the 9th or 10th round.
