I doubt that. I agree that he would win the opening rounds, but in the Pavlik fight I felt he was competitive until the end. I scored him winning the fight by a point.

 

taylor beat a more game and tougher hopkins twice. calzaghe struggled to beat a 43 year old hopkins and got knocked down. emm to me taylor has way more than just a little chance. i see him winning

Calzaghe's speed, workrate and movement would make him tire him faster than in his fight against Pavlik.

I don't think so, I think not having to worry about KO punches will relax Taylor and make him less tense. I could see him flurrying with Joe C. and getting the best of hit because he is actually punching and he has faster hands.

Taylor is a good athlete, thats his strong point, he would be a fairly good contender at any sport he turned his hand to i get the impression. Fairly good being the word, hes a level below the zagster.

 

I have been saying for a while now since Taylor is faster they would have an amature style 'points contest' and Taylor would win. Even Amsterdam admits Taylor is a bigger style problem, just can't bring himself to think........

 

Taylor didnt fade in the 2nd pavlik fight. I think making 160 was killing him, if they fight at 168 or 175, i giv him a decent shot. People ar counting JT out, he has th height, reach, power to bat calzagh, and he is younger. Lets no 4get that

 

Taylor's stamina was the reason he lost the 2nd Pavlik fight. He did much better than he did in the first but ran out of gas and Pavlik swept the championship rounds.

 

This is true! I like JT. He won me over in the first Pavlik fight, but I don't think he could beat Joe. He'd give him a helluva fight, but ultimately lose a close, maybe split, decision, and it would be losing the last couple rounds that made the difference.
