Very possible, he has a great chance here. I'll stick with Cotto by UD but Clottey pulling it off won't shock me.

I agree with this. Joshua Clottey has one of the best and more effective uppercuts in boxing right now a punch Cotto has always been suseptable to. Cottos always been open right up the middle Mosley showed that a couple times when the fought and Margarito exposed that big time loaded gloves or not he landed uppercuts frequently. I could see Clottey ripping him with uppercuts in similar fashion to how he did Diego Corrales although obviously 147 Cotto is alot better then 147 Corrales. Stylistically I dont think this is the best fight for Cotto now. Clottey close but clear win although the judges may see otherwise.

Wouldn't surprise me. I have Cotto as the favorite, but Clottey has a great chance. I feel he is underrated, so an impress win over Cotto will help elevate him to the level he deserves.

    He's got very good chances.
Altough I'm going with Cotto by decision.

my reasons? well most here think he can pull it off. bazooka3x did a brilliant break down which i fully agree with.

the thoughts are that clottey is big, strong enough to hang with cotto, can possibly manhandle him if needs be. most guys at 140 usually were bullied out of it becuase he was able to tank them.

clottey is a pressure fighter, but can hang on the outside and inside. his winky/starling defence being his way of applying pressure but also being able to get out of trouble without over committing. and i think sets off the combinations that cottos throws which are not effective.

he also has a great left hook/uppercut to the head and body which i think was the punch that got to cotto against margo. the left hook to the body (stone hands or not) margo hit him alot with. i also think that cotto is open for the uppercut his hands are next to his temples which leaves a gap for a uppercut form either hand. judah got to him with it. who even though had possibly the best uppercut in the game judah didnt follow up.

also clottey wears his opponant down, and plays off keeping them throwing and not landing. getting close with the guard then landing a lef thook makes the other guy throw his combo's which at one point

the fight i think plays out that cotto will box abit form the outside knowing that clottey will come to him and clottey not having that backstep, so he slams the jab, the right hand the left hook and combinations. that will give him the edge. then clottey comes on strong later in the fight from 4th or 5th rounds onwards. as cotto throws his combinations he gets caught on the way out. also cotto doesnt clinch. whether that is a macho move or a uknown aspect to him i dont know. thing is he doesnt clinch and i think will run out of room to which clottey takes over on the inside and beats him down.

possibly tkoing him late or a one sided ud...a knockdown could also be on the cards.

i dont know i dont vote much against cotto. but i think the chances are good for a clottey win. i dont think he is goign to destroy him but i think he has all the tools to win.

i prefer somone to proove me wrong.
