Brook is much slicker. They are the same height and have nearly equal reaches (Canelo 1.5 inches longer).

Canelo would almost certainly be heavier on fight night.

Brook has the skills to make Canelo look bad. But can Brook go the whole fight without catching a huge shot?

I think Brook would have a real chance to win.

What if he did take a huge shot? There seemed to be nothing wrong with Brook's chin last week.

    That's actually a great point.

I would love to see this fight. Wasn't HBO talking about making the fight?

fighters with good movement, can create angles and stop canelo planting his feet can give him major problems, we'v already seen it many times. I don't understand why anybody is surprised or hyping how good canelo looked. He LOVES fighting that style, which is why they picked smith....

He looks fantastic against plodders, guys who walk straight to him
He looks poor against guys who move and make him comes to them but its important they change angles and don't let him set his feet...simple

    Probably true.

But if Canelo ate punches in a Brook fight the way he ate them tonight against Smith, then Brook might not have to win on points.

Canelo got tagged tonight, a lot.

Canelo won't be able to hurt brook in one shot, he has to land multiple shots over mulitple rounds generally to hurt any, brooks not easy to hit. He seems to have the same defensive error floyd does, he gets hit with straight shots but tends to ride/block hooks well

Apparently so, but I can't see Alvarez taking it at 154- that weight would much favor Brook, I suspect Canelo is draining himself to avoid GGG whereas Brook should've been 154 a while ago

It could be a heck of a fight. We'll see what happens.

Brook did look good, physically, at 160. The 154 weight might be his best now.

I'd still fancy Canelo but in many respects Brook and Canelo are similar in that they both cut a lot of weight.
Because Canelo dropped his belt he doesn't get the respect he deserves which is his own stupid fault but make no mistake the guy is warrior and always delivers even when forced with a brutal weight cut,I may not like him but he's an exceptional pro boxer.
