I still do think it was disgraceful to put kell in with golovkin. This is a guy pretty much everyone feared in his own division mostly due to his consistant power. Now talking about chucking a guy two weights below in with him. Was always a recipe for disaster. If i was massive brook fan i d be angry about it today as well. Hearn didnt back brook whatsoever financially. Should have put his hand in his pocket a long time ago to get someone decent across with the long term financial gain in mind. Still think without the ggg fight...spence would have beat brook. Hes on the way to becoming a top fighter no doubts for me. Brook actually made him look worse than he is because brooks a good fighter himself.
they had to remove his eyeball and operate through his mouth to fix his eye socket last time.....and he was told he could go blind... he is not mentally or physically fit to fight on imo.....good luck to him ,i just wish he had fought the top 147s earlier
After the surgery he was given the all clear and advised that he could continue to box. This time it's happened to the other eye, so it's not the same injury.
He's already come out and said he wants to fight on. Fighters mentality, if he's passed fit, he'll want to fight on... the character that he is, he wouldn't want to end his career on a defeat.
I'd like to see him continue if he can get that other eye sorted. I wouldn't like to see him go out like that. He's still a top welterweight no doubt.
brook should retire, he is badly hurt and his potential will be forever unfulfilled. he has been well paid apparently which is good, he doesnt need to take any more punishment. and he certainly shouldn't be lining khan and hearns pockets with his health as the insurance. he owes hearn nothing, and he certainly doesnt owe khan anything. it is sad, but worse is to see a fighter carry on and get hurt. im sick of seeing that, sick of seeing people profit from that.
Like others mentioned you can fight on with broke bones or dislocations. But you should not **** with your eyes to that level Utterly no point in having millions or a "legacy" if you can't see ****
If he cant make 147 call it a day... His career has been so poorly managed as to be unreal. After Porter it was time to kick on I know he had to face Dann and Bizier etc but he really could have done with at least getting a name in there somehow. The GGG was always nonsense and he did well to do what he did in there but getting beaten up for 15 minutes by a massive puncher who is much heavier and then coming out with serve injuries is always going to leave its mark. He's then suffered a similar injury to another eye - The natural 154 guys are going to come out swinging like a shark smelling blood. Fight Khan at 147 win and see if he can get a title shot again or call it a day. He's a bit like Hatton wasted his prime years against substandard opposition so his time at the top will only be brief - could be its already over.
Brook and Dominic it seems have different viewpoints on the weight. Brook thinks if he never balooned so much after GGG fight he would of been ok. Dom thinks he has out-grown the weight and the cuts down in weight are harder and take more out of the fighter come fight night. It be interesting to see what happens as no doubt Hearn wants his 2p worth and will probably ask him to fight a novice 154 fighter to test the water.
No point in looking back, he took the GGG fight. He genuinely believed he could win, got a nice payday and came up short against the bigger man. Simple. What is the use of 'what ifs'. I do believe he took it to prove a point after Khan faced Canelo. Following the trail of somebody else always leads to disaster.
