I think Khan can take a shot, just rewatch round 4 and he was taking shots well!

People constantly bashing the guy, saying he's chinless, and I'll be the first to hold my hands up and say I did to. But looking back at the fight, especially in round 4, he was surviving and taking some good shots too, as well as fighting back. I believe the referee could have let it go on a little longer as I believe Khan was recovering. But then again, the referee probably made a wise decision as Khan wasn't defending enough. But It's amazing how people say he is glass jawed, when the shot that put him on his ass was landed behind his ear/neck area, which would have thrown off his equilibrium.

His chin has always been problematic. That being said, it's a shame, because on the final knockdown Khan was finally doing the right thing. He saw the punch coming and got his glove up to the side of his face, ready to block it. The shot still hit the very top of his head and put him down, though. I think his legs were just too far gone at that point.

The issue with Khan isn't his chin though. Although his chin isn't great it's his lack of respectable power and that will keep him from being truly elite. If you have a shaky chin, you'd BETTER have power at least inverse to your chin strength, or you have to be a masterful boxer. With a shaky chin you can't keep going through 12 round fights, someone will catch you.

He focuses on throwing for speed at the expense of power according to his most recent opponent Dani

If he just held and stayed safe for round 4 he might have been able to recover and possibly get back to a game plan for round 5...

His head was already in the wrong place for what kind of fight he wanted to fight so he was screwed either way...

I'm surprised he ended the fight on his feet given some of the shots he took.

Could it be that punch would have knocked out most boxers cold, being right at the base of the skull like that? If you ask me Khan did well to get up and fight on. Google ' brachial stun'

as much as the people on this site will hate to hear it, Khans chin isnt nearly as terrible as they make it out to be. Its the fact that he leaves it hanging out in the open to be repeatedly cracked over and over! Yes, he actually did eat some very big shots and kept going during that 4th round.

Like ive said several times before; his chin, though certainly not great, is not his biggest liability. Its his **** poor defense and **** ring IQ.

Kahn just lovingly checking out the cut and sweetly caressing his cheek.

He has almost no punch resistance whatsoever. Ive never seen a world champion with a chin as bad as his.

Add to that a very leaky defence & the survival instincts of a lemming & you have a recipe for lots of stoppage losses.

all those ****s, the chincheckers wil have a field day with this post. they predicted it ages ago, and i agree his punch resistance is not good but he can still prevail. he does, however need to protect his chin. the thing is i could have predicted that chisora would lose by ko against haye then called him gluss jawed, then said i called it....thing is any fighter can get knocked out and these choppers will call them glass jawed. to me Froch looked ****ed when Taylor floored him and could have been out of there at any point in that round, is he glass jawed? not saying Amir is anything other than shakily mandibular, but it isnt a complete hindrance
