Linares usuallt fights very aggresively and gets caught a lot in the process, yesterday he stuck more to a pure boxing approach and looked fantastic doing it... His speed was incredible at times and that's the only way to cause trouble for Loma, speed. He really did show a composed and calculated side to his game. Mikey has noticeably less speed than Linares and shorter reach which would make it a lot harder to hit Loma, and in most of the situations where Linares caught Loma moving our or moving in, Mikey wouldn't as he doesn't have the same speed
I'm not sure about that, but I do think - on paper at least - that Loma will have less to think about in a fight with Mikey. Mikey doesn't have he blistering handspeed of Jorge and he doesn't have the unorthodox punch variation either (lead right hooks and left uppercuts from very ambitious aangles and distances were what made Linares one of my favourite fighters). Styles make fights, and I think Mikey's picture perfect, textbook approach would play into Loma's hands.
Based on what? The Zlaticanin match? Heiland KO'd Centeno cold, but couldn't legit a one legged fighter who was literally a sitting duck. Boxing's crazy like that. Just because the man stopped fighter A, doesn't mean he's gonna going KO fighter B and C. You should know that.
I think ''style wise'' Mikey might be easier for Lomachenko. Mikey imo is stronger than Linares and more imposing. His shots are thudding, more direct but with less pace. Which Lomachenko may interpret and see coming. Lomachenko's foot work will befuddle him and Mikey comes in then resets after Lomachenko throws a feint. Which then plays into Lomachenko's boxing game. If he just stays with the same pattern not changing the gameplan he'll lose a decision. I think Garcia would have to change his style a bit and take a page out of a brawler's play book. Come in and make it an ugly dog fight. I'm not sure Mikey can fight that way.
