I think Margarito is getting way too hyped

Well I've only seen Joe against Bika. And I think Joe's bloody ordinary.

Man i cant wait for this fight. I want Cotto to win but damn i think Margo is going to take it, maybe by KO. I hope i'm wrong

 

Don't worry about. You are like many others who don't know Marg or haven't seen many of his fights. If you did you'd understand why a few of us here are seeing a Victory for Marg this Saturday.

Cotto is the real deal and he has proven himself time and time again. You can't take anything away from this guy. But what I see is a fighter Cotto hasn't had the chance to really understand b/c he's never see nor faced a style like his. Marg has faced guys like Cotto.....Maybe not as skilled or powerful, but none the less he'll know what to expect.

The Physical Advantages mean A LOT in the lower weight classes b/c most of these guys are skilled to begin with...throw in reach, height ect...and its whole other fight you have to be ready for. I see this fight ending early and i see a KO victory towards round 10 or 11 for Marg over Cotto.

 

Diaz is at a higher weight class than Pacquiao earned his reputation at. A bigger man is obviously going to take more damage.

Just look at how many knockouts Pac has between the first and fourth rounds. 22 knockouts within 4 rounds. How many for Cotto? 10. Cotto has 10 knockouts in 4 rounds or less.

What that ought to tell you is that Pac P4P has more one punch KO power in his left than Cotto does in any one punch.

And I wasn't speaking insofar as punch for punch. I'm talking respective of their weight classes. Pac punches harder at 130 than Cotto does at 140-147. No question about it.

 

Cotto's gonna look like Roy Jones out there...

 

No one's claiming this fight won't be a barnburner Aztek. In fact it will probably go down in history as one of the best, most exciting fights of all time.

I just have a hard time grasping the hype both guys are getting. Cotto's speed is getting overrated for instance. But that's the only thing with him. Margarito on the other hand, it's ****ing ridiculous. They're making it out like you could detonate a nuke on his chin and he wouldn't even budge. And IMO, that Cintron victory was put into perspective after Feliciano vs Cintron.

Cotto's a couple of classes above Margarito man. I'm expecting an easier fight for Cotto than most guys are expecting.

Overrated by some underrated by others. I get a lot of **** for this but I thought the decision coudl have gone his way in the williams fight and I don't think that he would be an easy fight for anyone.

 

He's tough as nails and is entertaining. But I just don't think he's that good to be honest. Not saying I don't like watching him fight and I do respect the **** out of him.

I guess some people have crystal balls at their houses. Surreal: Who the hell are you to say Santos can beat Cotto??? I mean, Santos is good, but you can not use an argument that only exist on inside your head. I think Cotto would KO Santos in 7rds. Williams have the same chances of beating Cotto as anyone with two hands. But I guess he has to get in the ring and prove it, Right??
Ambition: You can't say Pacquiao hits harder than Cotto either. Yes, has KO a lot of boxers. But they were all WAYYYYY smaller than Cotto and Margarito. Unless you performed some kind of punching power test we don't know about, its all talk. There is no way to know. Or may be if you have been in the ring with both of them, then I might believe you

 

I think Pac's power has been overrated. His shots are quick as hell and very sharp and straight. Look at the first Barrera fight and the last two Morales fights. He just overwhelmed them with his shots, look at how many clean shots they take and when Morales finally went down he didn't appear stunned, just exhausted and frustrated to hell, also very beaten. All the Marquez knockdowns, JMM never appeared to be seriously buzzed. Just caught flush, off guard and dropped but back up in seconds. I'm not taking anything away from Pac, the dude is amazing. Cotto on the other hand, I mean ****. His punches just ****ing hurt man. His left hook is like a sledge hammer. It's just my opinion that watching those two fight, that Cotto has the heavier hands when he sits on his shots.


End when I first read your post I didn't know you were talking on a "p4p basis" I just thought you meant he straight up hit harder then Cotto. :good
