I think Margarito is getting way too hyped

He had 1 loss to Ray Olivera man, stop embarrassing yourself more than you already do, I'm starting to feel sorry for you.

The only ones that changed their names and disappeared were the temporary Margarito fans once he lost to Williams. They switched to Cotto and for good reasons. :good

 

Anyone who acts like either guy "doesnt have a chance" or will get "exposed" simply doesnt know much about boxing.

My post didn't reflect my opinion but one expressed by a whole lot of posters here. Basically, I was just answering your question. To some people here, Margarito's garbage and will be brought to school this coming Saturday.

I never said he was garbage though I'm not subscribing at all to the opinion that he will beat Cotto, let alone ko him.

He's an average boxer IMO whose little success is mostly due to size and athleticism.

Part of his reputation stems as much (maybe more) from the fights he hasn't fought (Mayweather, DLH, etc. who allegedly ducked him) as from the ones he actually fought.

And this whole lunacy of indestructibility like he's robocop or something is mythology for ******s. The subscribers to this nonsense never ever mention that Margarito went down three times through his pro career (many don't even know this fact).

 

Bull****! Baldomir was never undisputed anything. Margarito had been chomping at the bit to get Mayorga, or Judah, or Spinks. Don King protected all their asses. Baldomir was a NOBODY who scored big on one night. He was never anything more than that. The fact that some saw Gatti having a chance against Baldomir ought to tell you that much. Lineal does not automatically assume an undisputed title.

Over-hyped or not, there is three things I am sure of about Margarito.
1. Margarito has an iron chin, and is extremely durable.
2. Margarito is a hard puncher.
3. Margarito has a great work rate, and stanima.

Style wise I think Margarito presents Cotto with many problems.Cotto is going to have a fighter with a relentless style, an iron chin, and hard punching coming at him. Cotto's one weakness is that he gets rocked by punches, and Margarito can hurt him. This is a dangerous fight for Cotto.

 

Ofcourse he is. Cotto fans have been hyping Margarito since the fight was announced to make Cotto's resume look better once he has beaten Margarito.

Baldomir got his shot because he FORCED it, he made his self the mandatory and got his shot. What did Margarito do?, sit down on a dildo and yell "Earth is ducking me?" with apes behind him agreeing to absolute BULL****?, if Margarito wanted the undisputed title or even cared for it enough he would've dropped the WBOgus and forced that fight to happen, there are ranking, he could take advantage of that.
