I just watched Mayweather vs Tony Pep on my DVR when I was running and I noticed that Mayweather used to have bounce in his step and MUCH better footwork.

I think he's ending up in the Winky Wright category of super defensive boxer who can't get around the ring like he used to.

He was throwing tons of combo's, bouncing around and lunging in and out even into the 7th and 8th rounds.

I think Freddie Roach might be right about his legs. Pac still has that bounce and the in and out speed that Floyd has removed from his repertoire.

I've been saying this for a long time. Current Floyd is NOTICEABLY slower than the one who beat up Zab Judah and Ricky Hatton. That being said, he can still fight backwards better than anyone else. 15 year old filipino kids don't call you "gayRUNNER" for no reason.

There is a recent video of Floyd playing basketball in which he was zipping up and down the court like a sprinter. That doesn't tell me he has "lost his legs." Besides, JMM and Morales weren't exactly speed demons yet they held their own against Pac.

he has, he s just gotten older and heavier- but he s also become more adapt at staying in the pocket, and rolling, and so on. all fighters get slower- even floyd- but he s improved his power, his base is hell strong, and he s still quick enough. its never been his athletic ability that wins fights for floyd, its been his mind- and his mind is as sharp as ever i think. but yeah- no balls.

Movement like that tires you out and Floyd has moved up in weight. He doesn't have lifetime experience of moving at that weight for 12 rounds. I'm more inclined that he's just developed even more as a fighter, learning not to tire himself out by moving too much. Of course I do think his age has played a factor and his legs can't be what they once where.

I think he has compensated well for it, but look at how good his footwork used to be.

Yea, he has. The current Floyd is all about being economical and using as least movement as possible. Younger Mayweather had moar activity and offense.

Floyd's legs have slowed visibly since his return.
