"I think Morales wants to fight" - Pac vs Morales I

I am not sure that Pac could have beat Morales the other two times if it would have happened a couple years earlier. Same with Barrera. The Barrera that beat Morales.

 

I'm sure if Pacquiao had more time to adjust to the weight and hadn't gotten that nasty cut in the 5th round, it would have made enough of a difference for him to beat Morales.

prime for prime Pac beats Morales more often than not. Despite the cut and the move up in weight, Pac only lost by 2 points on all scorecards.

 

Pac has KOd Barrera even before he had beaten Morales twice. Check your timeline. :deal If Pac has beaten earlier Barrera convicingly, it is also safe to assume that he could have beaten Morales earlier. We are just assuming what could have happened here, right? :hey

 

Okay got it. Its about 9pm over here and i just came back from a mission.

Not to take anything from Pac but I think Morales was able to beat Pac because of Barrera. Barrera took Pac lightly and thats why he lost. After that, everyone saw that Pac was the real deal and it helped Morales.

 

Pac had moved up recently from 122 to 126, and then soon after moved up from 126 to 130. At that time Pac relied heavy on his physical attributes to win him fights, and moving up to fight Morales, who was already established at 130, was a dangerous and ballsy move. Add to that the nasty cut in the 5th that never really stopped bothering Pac...

prime for prime PAcquiao beats Morales more often than not. Which doesn't mean that its impossible for Morales to narrowly edge him out.

It was a great fight, and a great win for Morales, but Pacquiao did emphatically set the record straight in the following 2 bouts.

I think that if Pacquiao had eeked out a narrow decision in the rematches, Morales backers would have a stronger case that all outside factors being equal (age, weightclass, training camp, etc), Morales beats Pacquiao. But Pac really owned him

 

Yes, that was the only loss Pac had when he went up the Featherweight division. If not for that accidental headbutt which caused his right eye to close, the results would have been different. Yes, I agree w/ you he's definitely a classy gentleman and a Mexican warrior who readily accepted his defeat by raising Pacman's hand.

 

The title of this post confused me. I was hoping that Morales wasn't contemplating a comeback. But if he was it would be interesting to see EM and Prince Naseem Hamed square off at super middleweight!

 

I know you're a big Manny Pacquiao fan, but the version that beat Pacquiao was already on the slide. A prime Morales would have done an even worse job, either winning by lopsided decision or late tko. The Morales that fought in Pacquiao 1 was not the same as Morales who fought in Barrera 1. Manny came into the scene at about the right time to take advantage of all the old timers.

 

What the hell is wrong with Soriano, here? How the hell can you not love that display by Morales. That was the greatest round and moment of their trilogy.

 

Morales is the king. One of the greats.

 

thats why he is who he is, and people love him for it. morales made fights like chi and mcculough harder than he should by engaging even though he did'nt need to. obviously that was a ballsy gamble against pac. but thats what made that fight even better, not knowing wether pac would take him out, after morales gave him the chance to do so.

 

That was a crazy but beautifull thing Morales did in that last round.

Morales is the most entertaining A+ fighter I have ever seen, he had absolutely everything a fighter needs to be great, he could be a little lacklustre in defence but the iron chin almost cancels that out IMO.

Erik is no less great than any of the other mini fab 4 (MAB, Pac, JMM) & IMHO is probably the best of the bunch, if he boxed every fight from long range & didnt focus on fan entertainment then he could still be healthy & an elite fighter now but he is completely worn out but we love him because of the way he fights, thats who he is.

If every fighter had Morales mentality then this sport wouldnt be so criticized & we wouldnt have **** fights on a regular basis.

Morales is a true ATG, a real fighter & a man deserving of the respect of every single boxing fan. End of.
