"I think Morales wants to fight" - Pac vs Morales I

Morales was already past his prime when he beat Pacquaio the first time

 

Morales can always say he's the only one of the Fab Four to ever best the guy.

(Even though i thought JMM did at least once).

Just shows how great the man was.

 

The story of that fight was in the first round, when Pac bulled Morales to the ropes with a nice shot...

Morales took a step back, got himself together and WAILED on Pac, forcing him completely across the ring and almost through the ropes.

To me, Morales, Pacquiao, and JMM are four guys who are visibly on the same level based on all their fights.

(Oh, and Barrera too.)

 

If he is really skilled and physically gifted as you claimed he is, why did he become washed up at age 29, that is, after fighting Pacman? Did Pac made him a washed up fighter like what he did to Barrera? At 29, Pac, btw, is still at the height of his career --- scaling heights like fighting a man mountain like dela Hoya.

 

He did not engage Pac in that last round. He showboated thinking he was ahead. That was a risky thing to do. If I were his trainer, I would scold him for doing that. He's lucky it was the last round and Pac was weakened by the bleeding on his brow. Had there been one more round, Erik would have gone down. That was a foolish, I should say.

 

That was kind of the point. He was essentially saying "Here you go ****er, you still can't knock me out even if I do something completely stupid." Even his own corner was saying, "Don't do anything stupid!" It was the best showcasing of guts I've seen in a boxing ring especially against a devastating puncher like Pac-Man.

That's a moment I'll remember all my life.

 

Yes, he is a king of a small kingdom which Pac grabbed for himself. Pac also earned the distinction of being the first and last boxer to make Erik's butt kiss the floor.

 

Erik Morales had been knocked down before so...there's a swing and a miss on that one.

 

I agree with you on this one but Erik was backpedalling in that last round. He hardly threw a punch. I think he was tired at that point.

 

Uh...He went down against Barrera in their first fight.
