I think my gym is forcing it's students to be inside fighters

What country are you from and where is this gym, never heard of gyms like that. Sounds more like a gym where people go to get in shape and pay for it not a place where you go to learn how to box.

The same thing happens for the sparring after public classes at my gym. At worst, you might trip and tear a ligament.

All you have to do is wait 2-3 rounds and the floor will clear up. Within 20 minutes of sparring time, 80% of the people are gone.

 

sounds like a good competitive gym..and u need to toughen up a little [mentally] open up your eyes be aware that you could trip over someone else.
