I can foresee target practice for PTP, but Pavlik is tough. Paul's been getting better every fight since he had the one loss. I think he'll look good and win by UD or late TKO.

This fight is what worries me:

The deciding factor will be if one of them comes in exceptionally sharp for this fight, or if one of them comes in exceptionally sloppy. In average condition of both, Williams will lose because he just gets tagged more often than Pavlik, and often capitalizes on an extreme reach advantage which he will have none at all in this fight. There is still the chance that Williams comes in the shape of his life while Pavlik has studied the bottom of his bottle too much to be sharp enough.

I think they both come in sharp, and I think we see Williams put on his best performance yet.

Walkwithme was actually hoping that the negotiations would fall through, that way he could keep talking **** about how Everyone keeps avoiding Williams.

Pavlik has to be set to throw punches ... Williams can throw and pivot out the way and by the time Kels resets Williams is already throwing punches.

In addition to that, I think Kels biggest problem is with boxers ... he has more success with guys who's going to walk towards him in straight lines.

Pavlik is good but he's lanky, robotic, lacks rhythym, terrible timing, and has a hard time countering, dealing with a fighter who give angles and movement.

    Pavlik will get stopped ...

Agreed 100% ... when Pavlik fought Taylor the second time he was taking alot of punishment and wasn't able to get off until late when Taylor got tired. Again the same scenario happened when he fought Hopkins ... after the 3rd round he was getting countered so much that he was affraid to pull the trigger and ultimately got blew out.

When Kels is getting punched, he steps straight back with his hands up and doesn't pivot ... I can see Williams getting off 10 punch combinations on Pavlik. In addition to that he bruises easily ... I can see at some point in time him getting cut ...

He also holds a ton ...

Not a good fight for Pavlik but a great fight for Williams !!

in the bhop fight by the 4th round pavlik was just totally out of rhythm & couldnt find his opponent... he doesnt really have any second options so he didnt know what the **** to do and was completely out of his element...

    jack loew - 1- 1- 2

pavlik was doing his routine but he couldnt find bhop cause bhop took it away.... and pavlik doesnt have any second options...

not only that but if paul can get pavlik to shell up... paul wil go to the body in those 4-7 punch combo's he is so well known for..... i dont know of anyone who really put a concerted effort into going to palviks body which would be an interesting situation to see

Pavlik has been tagged quite a bit in his career, and what I think about most in how PTP wins this is how he throws every punch and they come from all kinds of angles, non-stop. With Pavlik already having shown major defensive liabilities I don't see how he will beat Paul.

The chin I guess is the question for PTP since this is a MW bout and he's a WW, even though so far, his chin has shown to be very good. I think PTP's rhythm will make it hard for Pavlik to hit him flush though.

Paul's body punching may really pay off in this fight. Actually, Paul may have an easier time to land all those body shots he throws because he won't have to bend down so much and give up his height. He's been getting better at not doing that anyway.

I personally think chin is a mixture of your natural ability ( how well you can actually take a punch), how muscular your neck & jaw is, and how well you can see & be prepared for a punch...now that i think about this i think pauls chin will hold up fine.... there wouldnt be one shot to take him out and crumple him.. breaking him down could be possible & thats what paul is going to have to stay away from

well i think he only gives up his height because he really doesnt respect his enemies and actually has fun while he is fighting..... i've mentioned before that as long as he fall victim to himself he should win...and i really dont think anyone has ever tried to go to the body against pavlik... i think mr peterson is going to make this a big part of his game plan to try to shock pavlik

Oh, I agree he didn't really care about giving up height in fights like the Phillips fight cause there was nothing stopping him. I guess I thought he looked more polished against Winky overall, and have seen a consistent improvement.

I think it will just be easier to hit Pavlik with body shots without getting tagged, where in the past it didn't matter anyway because his opponents could not hurt him, but he does have to be a little more careful in this one obviously. He loves to brawl though (he just loves to fight as much as anyway), but still, I think he'll be smart enough (and just too fast).

thats my biggest fear... if he just gets into a mode where hes like.... i dont care, im just going to do what i do... that might get him in some trouble... he has to think a lot in this fight... if he thinks it should be an easy outing
