I'm definetly no "fan" of him, but that does not seem to be correct. Pavlik COUNTERED Mirandas attacks WHILE moving out of them, and had a PERFECT timing for that. Up to now, he just struggled with one guy who gave him extreme amounts of upper body movement and would constantly change the distance. Which is what Hopkins did, and does NOT describe Williams. See the video I posted.

Different from his previous fights, Williams will also not be able to throw his punches from a good deal out of punching distance of his opponent, stopping that one before he is in reach for his own offense. That will not happen with Pavlik who has a similar reach and height. They will be in each others punching range when firing, and as of yet, I saw Pavlik doing better in that than Williams who got hit flush time and again when he allowed that in his first Quintana fight. After that, he used his reach advantage a lot more, peppering from the distance, and especially keeping firing to not allow the opponent to come in range in between. Pavlik will not need to, he is in range when Williams is for his own offense. The guy with the better timing wins, and Williams seemed not be able to see Quintanas punches coming, dodging them, instead of just avoiding them with distance. Pavlik did a good job in doing that with Miranda, while he failed terribly when someone would spoil the timing thing with off-rythm fighting like Hopkins. Hopkins would dodge, dodge again, go left, dodge, and THEN fire a surprise hand when Pavlik overcomits or "sticks to his rythm". Williams didn't show me he can do that as of yet.

Of course, he could be capable of adjust-ing to the task. He just didn't do it yet. (P.S.: J-u-s-t-i-n is a forbidden word ???)

Williams can win and if he handle Kelly's power he will outwork Kelly to a UD win. This fight is hard for me to pick because we just don't know if Williams can take his punch.

whoever said that Pavlik avoided Miranda's punches didn't really see that fight. That fight was so actioned packed that it was a candidate for fight of the year. Pavlik ate so many clean shots but had a good game plan and forced Miranda back and made his power ineffective. He also proved that Miranda had zero boxing skills, because if he did he would've put up a better fight.

Yes he can . . . by outboxing him . . . and winning the fight on points.

I think that Williams can stop Pavlik mid to late rounds.

Possible . . . but very little chance . . . Pav survived Taylor's and Miranda's best punches so I would like to believe Pav can also survived PW's best punches.

Those guys may have hit Kels hard - one punch at a time, but Paul Williams style is going to put Pavlik on the defensive alot more than Miranda or Taylor.

You can't let out of the equation that Kelly Pavlik or any other strong middle would put WILLIAMS on his defensive a lot more than short, powerless guys could he fought before. He has a totally different task at his hands this time, so predictions based on how he looked against fighters more than a foot smaller than him are not too meaningful. Klitschko didn't look as commanding against Thompson as he looked against short Chagaev, not because Thompson was such a strong boxer, but because he was his own size and reach.

After this fight, anyone other than blatant PW nuthuggers (you guys know who you are; you don't have to kneel to swallow...) who thinks Pavlik loses to Williams is straight up ******ed...

Hey Uncle!! The probelm is a lot of the guys you referenced are not even Williams fans. They've hated Pavlik since September 29th 2007. And will use any excuse to take a cheap shot at him.

Hey Boo! I assume you and pipewrenched are keeping people up to date on reality; had to cut my ESB time as I got back into restaurants... But seriously, probably the best thing that could have happened to PW happened tonight, because after feeling some serious JMW power (from a decent-but-not-great puncher like SM [who, incidentally I think won the fight]) I think he will really think twice about fighting a guy like KP...

two different styles. Paul would not be surprised hit by Pavlik. Pavlik is slow as hell compared to Martinez and not as dynamic. His punches are the type that you can dodge easier.
