    :lol::lol::lol:

To answer this thread's thoughtful question, at this point Pavlik knocks him out. If Paul takes a couple more fights at MW and proves himself at that weight, then maybe we could have this discussion.

Size doesn't make that much difference IMO.

Williams is as tall with a longer reach. His chin takes away Pavlik's power. He also has much better handspeed and footwork than KP.

You can see Pavlik loading up from the UK - he would get his ass whipped.

SImple fact is - PW does not have enough power to back off Pavlik .... and PW is just too easy to hit. I am a fan of both guys , but I would be very surprised his Paul Williams can even last 10 rounds with Pavlik... He cuts way to easy and has NEVER been punched by someone with Pavlik's power..

When you are willing to take punishment against Pavlik, you will lose.

Certainly not outside the realm of possibility. Would be a minor upset.

I simply think Pavlik was WAY overrated - a fact that was proven in emphatic style by an old Hopkins.

Williams isn't as good granted, but is much fresher and faster.

People seem to forget that Taylor made Pavlik look amateurish in their first fight, for the most part.

Pavlik actually looked a lot faster and sharper than he does now in that fight.

He's more disciplined and technically correct now, but he looks better athletically in this video.

Amatuerish? when was the last time you watched that fight? Pavlik won the 1st , 3rd and 6th and even possibly the 4th ... He was landing his jab and was able to land solid rights ...

Sure he got taken down in the 2nd, but he took 17 straight punches from a strong puncher and was up at 2 seconds.

I am not making excuses , because Pavlik would have lost to BHOP anyways most likely, but the simple fact is that he had bronchitis 3 days before the fight and did only 5% of his normal sparring over the last 3 weeks of camp due to his elbow injury ... That was not the normal pavlik on that night, anyone could see this. In between one of the rounds you can see him shoot out about 3 cups of snot from his nose. The guy was not well.

He had problems with Nard...an all time great, and he was fighting over his ideal weight.

So you are basing you call on that one fight...smooth

Williams is a good fighter but too small and not strong enough

You seem to forget Goosen got what he asked for and then bailed on this fight. Now Arum won't even talk to Goosen about ANY matchups.

I'm somewhat surprised that this thread is now 5 pages, and no one has directly mentioned the real problem!

Paul has a bad habit of keeping his right hand down low, and he does not have particularyl good head movement. That combination means one thing: Pavlik + the jab-right hand mojo = KNOCKED THE **** OUT.
