I think Paul Williams can beat Kelly Pavlik

    Pavlik might be bigger but he is not better than Margo. And he is not really that similar either.

    You're right. Other than great work-rates and stamina they have little else in common.

    Pavlik will hurt Paul bad .I am willing to bet that it comes from a body shot as opposed to a head shot .

    You could be right! Paul is so open to Pav's jab-right-hand I honestly never gave much thought to body work.

    I think Williams movement and workrate would frustrate Pavlik ... Pavlik has poor movement and is too robotic in his rhythm ...

    Pavlik has trouble with boxers ... Williams isn't going to come forward and fight a fight suited for Pavlik.

    I could see Williams winning by decision 116-113 ... or a stoppage of some kind from accumulation of punishment.

    I can't see Pavlik matching skill ... Pavlik is a strong fighter and has a good chin, but he's not on the skill level of Williams.

    Yeah i'm basing it off of Bernards victory over Pavlik which wasn't an upset in my mind. And i'm basing it on the fact that Williams is a freak of nature and will make the best of being a Middleweight.

    I feel that this match would be a fight that team Pavlik would try to avoid. Someone said that Goosen balked at the numbers, but from what I heard is that TopRank blamed it on Al Haymon ... and team Pavlik didn't feel that it was too risky fighting a welterweight ... win or lose ... it wouldn't do anything for them.

    This is getting old. This fight was so 'almost done' Pavlik had started preparing for Williams. Then Goosen dropped it. Pavlik stated AFTER the fact that he wasn't keen on fighting WW's probably because of the heat Taylor took for fighting smaller guys. Pavlik is the local boy so I followed this closely.

    Team Pavlik didn't want that fight ... they didn't like the idea of possibly losing to a good welterweight boxer.

    Bob Arum blamed it on Al Haymond ...

    I be surprised if PW can last 12 rounds with KP. I see KP putting a hurting on Paul.

    I agree.I had the same thought even before the Hopkins fight {which is why I picked B-hop} but I want to see if Pavlik changes anything in this next fight, like add a real left-hook or look a little more fluid. Paul can do it, but it will be a tough as hell fight.

    A poster that seems to have a little inside info on Kelly's camp said he was preparing for Williams. (he has since re-confirmed this) What is your source?

    In this post you said "Pavlik has a good chin." In Rico's p4p glass jaw thread you listed Pavlik as having the #3 worst chin in boxing. Which is it?

    William's is a big strong welter. With PBF incative the #1 spot is between him and Margo, and since Paul already beat Tony once, I have to give PW the edge. At 160 KP would just run over him. It's a 5 round fight.
