I think Pavlik will be surprised at the one-punch power of Maravilla.

They are just as limited as Pavlik so they'll have a extremely hard time to come up with something new!!!

All i know is that if Pavlik loses his career is over and Hermit, Booradley, Pavlik is champ are finished on ESB because they have no back up plan and they put all their chips on KP!!!!!!!

I can buy a Martinez decision or accumulation stoppage but no way in hell its one punch. I predict Pavlik to wear him down and tire him out and win down the stretch. Martinez tired in his last fight and Pavlik is just a bigger stronger and harder punching pressure fighter than Williams

I always thought Sergio had more power than his record suggests. But even then, I don't think his power is going to have as much effect on Pavlik as it did on Cintron or Williams. You got to remember both of those cats were natural welterweights. While Sergio is fighting a legitimate middleweight in Pavlik, who's likely on the verge of becoming a super middleweight.

As greatly as I admire the adept fashion in which you can wind-up Pavlickers, can Sergio really spark Kelly with one shot? :think

I'm backing the upset, but it would be an upset, and Maravilla has to get all the way to the final bell to do it, IMO. If anyone's getting laid-out, it's probably Sergio.

    Sergio 1 punch power? :rofl
the guy went 12 rounds a few years ago with a guy with 13 wins and 24 losses. of course he did force a guy to not come out for round 4 in 2007, his record was 3 wins and 34 losses.
in 2008 he did tko someone who had lost 5 out of last 6 fights
then he fight a 4 rounder going the distance against a 14-10 fighter...

not sure where you are coming from other than hate....this will be a beat down of epic proportions . just like everyone else on the boards dom gonna go by 1 fight where he got up and not the overall 14 year career....
youre going to find out how small this guys looks when hes in the ring with pavlik. he has had over 25 fights at welter, 20 fights at junior middle, and never a middleweight, much less a middleweight champion who has fought guys who have power, like miranda, taylor. and no , fighting paul williams at 157 does not constitute a fight with a real middleweight, considering paul williams had fought there 1 other time.
its gonna be berto vs quaintanna all over again but worse :deal

No, you're right; Sergio Martinez is up there with Bob Foster as a legendary one-punch KO artist.

Pavlik is going down. Running the stairs at a football stadium doesnt justify the 9 beers you drink the night before. Maravilla by TKO

OK. Let's just pull up your Clottey prediction thread. OH. That is old material too. How much you lose on that fight? How much you betting on Martinez?

NBA winds himself on. When he winds down, on line and he rings like a bell for another couple paragraphs. Rinse, repeat.

Just for information, the leading UK betting market currently has the odds (at the time of this comment) as follows:

    Pavlik Win: 4/7
    Martinez Win: 7/5
    Draw: 26/1

... with breakdown odds of ...

    Pavlik KO/TKO/DQ: 7/4
    Pavlik Decision/Tech decision: 9/4
    Martinez KO/TKO/DQ: 5/2
    Martinez Decision/Tech decision: 2/1

    Go the distance:
    Yes: 10/11
    No: 8/15

    That's surprisingly close all-round.
