I think Quintana will put another beating on the feather-fisted Williams

This has been my stance in each and every one of my post regarding this fight. I hope he has a rematch clause.

If Quintana wants a rubber match he deserves it.

They've had about as contrasting wins as you can get, so a third is definitely warranted

I'm not so sure taking a knee would have save him to be honest. The ref did give him a standing 8 after the first knockdown. That first left he took really jacked him up bad.

I agree that he'd have needed some luck to make it alive, the way he was getting hit by Williams...where was the headmovement?:huh Where was the defence?:huh Williams sure did fight a great fight in the mid-rane and on the inside...very impressive the way he could move his attack from the mid-range to the inside to the outside so fluidly...:yep

that was a great performance williams put up. finally some nice punch technique from him, it showed in his power. he also fought smartly this time by fighting from the outside, and not getting trading with quintana on the inside. i myself predicted quintana would have won a close decision. if anything, it just showed us there are no "sure things" in the sport.

charlievint and marting called it bang on! Very impressive...I just couldn't see it...couldn't see it at all...looks like I was underrating Williams a lot; also, looks like Quintana couldn't have performed better than in the first fight - that was a high mark for him.

    Williams...is not feather-fisted...

But...I wouldn't say he has that much power...:think...honestly...he does hit, but he is effective because he swings hard and hits on the button...:huh ...is his power better than solid B?:think

    Ok...so I was wrong about his power...

    :yep

    :thumbsup

What happens is that everybody knew deep down that there was a difference in boxing caliber between Q and PW but since Q is a classy, nice, humble and down to earth guy, some expected and wished that he could do another number on PW and pull another upset... There is a long way from wishing and actually happening - Q was destroyed, there is no space for a rubber match, PW is at the very top all over again and maybe more than ever, whether you like it or not... That's simply how it goes.

Yeah...you're probably right, Dorfmeister...it looks like I was wishful thinking...:yep

    :good

This is what is holding me down, still...wishful thinking...

Do you think Margarito will beat Cotto?

I wouldn't like to change the subject here in this thread but let me say that I knew what would happen in Q vs PW ( and even in Pavlik-Lockett & Juanma-PDL) but I was shocked all the same... That leads me to say that if "La Batalla" lasts 3 minutes or 15 minutes, I wouldn't be shocked that time ( whether it is a win for Miguel or for Tony) - there is only a certain amount of physical violence a human being can take and the last thing I know for sure is that Cotto and Margo are humans like PDL, Quintana, Lockett and others... They're maybe tougher humans but that fight cannot possibly go 12 rounds.

...so, without changing the subject, you think Margo has a good chance? Do you see him as the favourite?

Basically, I want to see what Miguel gonna do when he hits Tony with his best shots and the guy keeps coming and coming and throwing 130 punches ( big punches) per round. Remember Cotto is 5'7'' tall and all those opponents that he faced - Torres, Malignaggi, NDou, Quintana, Judah, Mosley, Gomez - they all would have to look up when facing this new opponent of his, very bad motha f***er Margarito... I always thought and still think that boxing is more of a physical game than a pure art of self defense like martial arts... It's no scratching game and you have to fight against the pain and the punishment. Cotto is all professional and hardcore but he is a notch below Margarito in commitment.

I just have to disagree with that last statement...

Tony sure is tough, but Williams beat him; now you might say: Well, yeah, he's a hell of a puncher...well, he wasn't against Margarito...

If Williams beat him without hurting him that much...why cannot this fight go 12, unless Cotto stops him, that is...;)
