Thank you Paul Williams for reminding us what is the most exciting thing about boxing: unpredictability... we can have the odds and the confident predictions all the time but it still takes a good punch to KO the odds and that's what Williams did...

I though he never deserved a rematch mainly because he got schooled the first time and did nothing to earn a title shot - but man he put on some performance - the only better one this weekend was Juan Manuel Lopez'!

Pretty shocking to have two 1sr round KO's on the same night in what many thought was going to be a great night for boxing!!

Thanks for the acknowledgement but I'll be the first to tell you there isn't a single poster on this site that hasn't been wrong on a call. I've missed too many to even think of bragging. Charlie and I have been posting here a long time and I think we have seen how the "game" works.

First a hot prospect, like Williams comes along and he makes big noise. Then come the detractors looking for every flaw they can see and some they invent. It evolves into distortion. Then comes the big loss. The detractors (haters) get the upper hand and play the "I'm an expert" card.

Williams was never as bad as he got criticized. Quintana was the classic spoiler. When it comes talented fighters, if they're smart and have good men in their corner, when they get a second shot at spoilers they make adjustments.

I'm guessing, that when Williams watched the replays of the first fight he uttered something like "damn, what was I thinking?" He had to see all that skill, size and power was getting diminished by angles from a seasoned pro. He adjusted. That's huge in a fighter. Now Williams needs to learn to adjust midfight. When he learns that he reaches the next level.

i thought q hade something to prove for this fight and i thought he was going to win. but dam he had no head movement what so ever and wen he was hurt he did not know how to survive . wen he was hurt he should move back to get away or hold till the end of the round. he looked like he didn't know what to do. and i don't think there should be a rematch only becous the way he lost. but some might think deferent.

Yes...all true, but Quintana underperformed...he looked distinctly average in there; in the first fight, he lookes clearly world class. Either that or he wasn't as good as he was in the first fight in the first place...:think

Let's see how Williams does against the next good fighter he faces. If he goes up another level, we're talking a p4p Top 20 ranking!

why did he look average? Cuz he got KO'd so fast? We didnt get much of a chance to see what he looked like. Williams took care of him way too fast.

He didn't move his head at all...he didn't move full stop - even before Williams laid the beating on him...:-( ...and he didn't know what to do when he got hurt.:-(
