I think Roach was really disappointed in Amir

I've watched a couple of interviews and transcripts from Post-fight Roach and he genuinely seemed disappointed in Amir although he didn't say it.

From seriously considering pulling Khan out in the 10th to acknowledging that going out to fight "is in Khan's dna and I can't change that."

Deep down I hope that maybe it was the bright lights of Vegas that made Amir lose his focus and not stick to Freddie's gameplan. Roach mentioned in the post-fight press conference that between rounds he was telling Amir to use the jab, stick with the plan but then he turned around and ultimately did another thing.

Bradley summed it up nicely, if Khan couldn't (wouldn't :think) school a plodding Maidana then a boxer with better all round skills, faster head and foot movement will give him trouble.

I hope Roach and Amir have a serious talk and Amir comes round. When you're at the top of the game, there's no room for luck or bravado. Amir needs to put his head down and re-focus his discipline, particularly when under pressure.

Bradley also claimed that Maidana would break khan's jaw before the fight!

    :)

There's being a brawler and being a slickster. Khan aint no Gatti. The boy's got skills - he needs to get his head together in the ring. I hope he listens to Roach and doesn't go back to a pre-prescott gunslinger.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan. In a way, perhaps thats why I don't want to see him fight a tough fight when he has the skills to make it easy.

Khan is just too tense and scatty in the ring. He needs to find a way to slow the pace of a fight down and show some depth to his footwork and movement.

At this rate he's gonna be knackered after a few more fights and have a shorter career than hoped for.

blah blah blah Freddie's game plan..........

If Amir Khan would of stuck to Freddie's game plan, he would not of gotten the credit he deserved.

He would not of proved to all the *******s, that he can take a punch off a world class puncher.

I'm sick of people, bumming Freddie Roach like he is Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars.

well he took a while to get manny to stop just going out for a tear-up, and even now and then manny just thinks "**** it, you bring it, ill bring, lets duke it out". i'm sure he waved margo in at one point and dont forget he let cotto have a few free shots...as his relationship gets closer with khan, he'll get in his head more, learn more about him and how to connect with khan, what to say to stop him going to war

good....i really hope roach is dissapointed and pulls amir to the side when the dust settles and gives a good telling off and let him know this **** is serious....no time for games.... not only did he almost let his career slip away...but he wasted roaches time and made him look like a fool for all the **** and big build up roach gave him before...i.e. "he's the best listener around"..."picks up things really fast"...."always follows the gameplan"...."will beat maidana and ko him"..."will not lose a round"....even khan before hand in the pac-margo fight and onwards in almost every big interview mentioned "we will follow freddies gameplan" "we will stick to the gameplan"............. It's like freddie has been drilling it into him for months the importance of sticking to the gameplan...but come fight night after 2 rounds it all through the window and khan circles with his back on the ropes not fighting in the centre as roach said...even between rounds freddies says one thing khan did not listen to him........... This will seriously **** khan up if he pulls this sort of **** again....and roach will not be happy............

I can accept everyone has a gameplan until they get hit....but khan was just plain ignorant

i think people forget that hes probably a good 3 or 4 years away from actually being at his peak as a boxer.

he'll learn so much more during that time on his way to becoming the finished article...

Khan will be made to watch the fight with Roach and I doubt he'll be chuffed with himself then. It should put his feet back on the ground the same way the Prescott fight did.
