I have a strong feeling that Gonzalez stops Russell tonight. I think this is a bad fight for Gary and Jhonny's power will be a difference maker.

I will gladly take a stab at Gonzalez inside the distance at +265.

Jhonny could get TKO'd just as easily.

If this becomes a brawl, who do you give the edge to? I give it to Gonzalez.

I know it makes me sound like a hater, but I hope he does get stopped or at least looks terrible again.
The guy is flat out unlikeable. Talks total isht about top tier guys, but doesn't fight them. Finally steps up and gets completely outclassed, yet blames others.

This is the kind of guy that gets a title and has zero issues fighting unworthy plumbers. Amazing athletic ability, can look dazzling when matched well...but not good for boxing.

I'm rolling with Gonzalez by stoppage. He's perceived as a poor boxer, but truth is he's actually quite good and with his size weight and power advantages he should spark GRJ out of there. Russel is much faster but he doesn't use it intelligently. Notice he never changes speeds or surprises opponents, instead he sticks around in the pocket and fires away, watch him get countered/set up/caught in between a combination and it's over after that.

I've been feeling Jhonny by KO. Might be early, too.

I think Russell outworks him tonight. He has a lot riding on this fight and I think he's more than motivated to put his last performance behind him. If he relies strictly on his speed, he'll be in for a long (or short) night. Should be interesting, though, and I can definitely see where you're coming from with that feeling you have...Gary didn't look too good in his last fight. I remember watching the Gonzales-Mares fight at a friend's house and being surprised how quickly he destroyed Abner. We'll see, though. Hoping Russell gets back on track. :bbb:bbb

GRJ speed will be the difference in this fight, I don't think Gonzalez is in his league.

Wow. I' d say they are both world class fighters. Definitely in similar league, no?
Isn't Jhonny widely viewed as #1 feather?

Walters and Loma and even Donaire if he stayed at Feather are leagues ahead of Gonzalez. I'd put him at the same league as Gradovich....decent but nowhere near world class. Number 1 feather? Never in a million years
