i just seen in the other forum that Walters has weighed 127.4lb and has 2 hours to make 126,which got me thinking :nut

have you ever known so many top fighters that are clearly boxing at the wrong weight?they are boiling down so much that they are bone dry on the scales only a day before fight... we know the reaasons why etc but its getting unreal that so much effort is being put in to make an almost unrealistic weight...im not sure the answer but i suggested having a weigh in a week before that you can only be 5% over limit plus the standard weigh in?

that is probably just 2 weigh ins that will make things even worse though :rofl but after watching Crawford making weight i was a bit shocked

    It's getting crazy.
Heard that Geale put on over 22 pounds following the weigh in.
One way or another that can't be a great thing for your body to do that then to have to put in a punishing athletic performance.

Pro boxers should have weigh ins year round and you shouldnt be allowed to fight a certain percentage below that weight

if you dont make weight then get stripped of title and not be allowed to fight for a title for a year and severe fines.
nothing will be done but they need to find a way to get a fighter make weight, it seems every other title fight some one fails to make weight

I've been saying for years it has to go back to same day weigh in and fight.

The way it works now is nearly all fighters have to kill themselves to make weights that are not their natural weights, if they don't they could end up fighting somebody who could be 15lb plus heavier on the night, now that is dangerous, there are weight classes for a reason.

Something needs to be done but I'm not sure how you would change it. There are that many divisions now that you really shouldn't be struggling to make a weight, there are many bigger issues still in boxing though that need to be sorted first, drug testing as mentioned before should be the priority but also catchweights, titles and getting the number 1 and 2 guys in the division also is a huge problem. They all need sorting but the problem is, its difficult to find the perfect solution.

it seems the way to be top dog in a division is boil yourself to withinn an inch of death then rehydrate to 10-20% more than the weight limit

Crawford,Walters,Alvarez all do it and they are actually top class boxers ,they may even flourish at their natural weights ...!!

Very true, the top boxers don't rely on their natural abilities to do it anymore, more the fact of their natural size advantages doing the job for them. This may not be the best idea but as well as weight limits, having height limits too?

I think that they should have to weigh in just before the fight in every weight bellow HW so that when they fight they are fighting at the correct weight. I don't think it is right that fighters fight weighing in some cases over a stone heavier than the weight class.

It was that many years ago though wasn't it? They changed that in order for the fighters to be as healthy as possible going into the fight, also reduces the possibility of any permanent physical damage to the boxer.

i suggested 2 weigh ins? 1 of them a week before......so the boxers weight is much more stable ...Crawford ,Alvarez etc would could not make the lighter weight for a whole week thus forcing them into their proper division...

ps same day weigh in cant come back ,you will just have ill boxers fighting

I'd love for weight ins to be 1 hour before a fight.

Ridiculous some boxers putting on. 15+ lbs in the in between period..
