That explains why it was at select locations... they were probably just testing to see how successful it would potentially be.

the select locations were high volume boxing fan bases or something..

I think people would support that more than pay-per-view.

or for that matter did anyone go to a theater to watch it?? seems like it would be pretty sweet to watch a fight like that.

Couple guys made a post (IntentionalButt) and someone else.

One of them said the theaters around them were sold out and packed.

    Best I could get

The pay-per-view sales apparently weren't even harmed by Golden Boy's decision to show the fight in 170 movie theaters around the country, a strategy that worried Greenburg. Schaefer said the fight played to about 80 percent capacity in theaters, which were once a regular site for closed-circuit boxing shows.

Imagine they did Pac - Floyd on free HBO.

Just to squash and completely humiliate Dana White, we should all do a petition for this one.

The one near Detroit was sold out. It was awsome watchin a fight like that, people got into it and it felt like being there live. They should do every major fight like that

yeah if they did this for mayweather pacquiao... it woudl be the type of situation where...

1 theater would not suffice the amount of people who wanted to actually view the fight

like when star wars (the new ones came out) and they had the midnight showing and they would put it on like 10 different rooms in 1 theater... they would probably have to do something similar with this

and it would still sell atleast 3 million ppv's...

how many people go in a theatre in the states?? 500 ? 1000?

    let's take 750. 170 x 750= 127.500.. x 0,8 = 102.000

If they open up more theatres and promote it right, i believe every big fight can go to at least 500.000 and with pac mayweather, it could be unlimited 3 milion or something... they could sell out any theatre anywhere.. It would hurt PPV buys though
