I have to be honest I don't think there would be much of a difference 5 years ago. They had 5 years to watch tape and Roach comes up with a gameplan of trying to box mayweather at a distance? I really don't know why in God's name that was the gameplan, but they stuck with it the whole fight. Nobody ever claimed Pac is better boxer than Mayweather. Even when Pac was in shape and dominating 5 years ago if he tried to outside box with mayweather he would have lost the same way. Manny needed to get inside, take a hit, fight him and not box him. Manny is a fighter Mayweather is a boxer. Mayweather took him to school because Manny fought the way he wanted to fight. At the end of the day it was a showcase for Mayweather's defense and jab and incredibly boring. I think this is really on Roach and not even Manny. Floyd Mayweather Sr gets no love and Roach puts together this? Does anyone agree with this? I mean Manny didn't even try for a KO from rounds 9-12 when there was no coming back on the scorecard. Just a weird finish IMO. Did they just say lets get a paycheck and get out of here? There is no need for a rematch if Roach is going to send Pac out again to try and beat Mayweather at his specialty. I feel like fans were robbed. Not a scratch on either fighter.
Yes I realize he was a monster, but if he fought the same fight he did on Saturday he would have lost. Roach had a horrible gameplan. Nothing playing to manny's strengths. Manny couldn't go playing the jab counter game with Mayweather at any point in his career and won. He never tried to get in. Even we he got close on the ropes he gave mayweather space. It was just very strange to see Manny fight that way. And the fact that he did it the whole fight is telling that Roach had this plan for Manny to fight this way. Jabs never kept manny at a distance in any of his previous fights. He wanted to trade distance punches with Mayweather.

Mayweather's right is the reason Pacquiao didn't get in. He won't admit it, mays right had Pacquiao thinking twice about rushing in. The only time Pacquiao tried anything was when mayweather was on the ropes. I give Pacquiao some credit because he threw with mayweather a few times countered and landed. I feel if this fight happened pre Pacquiao ko, Pacquiao would have went for broke more. He's hesitate to just rush in with combos. All the complaining he was running " is really saying he wouldn't stand still to let me hit him" is ludicrous. It's not like they didn't know how mayweather fights, all the he can run but he can't hide talk. All the we have a gameplan to get to mayweather talk. I think the plan was to counter mayweather and catch him with something, try to anger him prefight so he would fight toe to toe was the only hope they had of winning. Mayweather > any version of Pacquiao :deal
