Would still Be Miguel Cotto: Skillwise, I think he has what it takes to beat PBF. MArgo may have the hardest chin but I don't think this guy has enough skill to match floyd's potshots-hit-and-run style. Cotto may have lost to MARGO that night, but still, the former champion showed commendable boxing skills, excellent handspeed, slick movements, and several powerful shots against a guy who unfortunately could take all his punches... :rasta
Cotto put on a boxing clinic for the first 6 rounds. Unfortunately, he was simply in with a man naturally much larger who was bound and determined to run him down.
I couldn't careless about Floyd. He retired. If Cotto manages to recover from this loss by winning back his title, and beating the likes of Williams, Margarito, and Berto further down the line, he'd have a much better legacy than Floyd. Some great fighters win and then retire, but most great fighters lose and then comeback better.
i think it's Paul Williams who got the tools to beat PBF. Freaking height and reach advantage plus Paul has unbelieveable workrate that will keep PBF at bay.
I wouldn't "favor" anyone over him. I think a few fighters could give him a tough fight though: Cotto, Margo (yup I finally said it), Williams, Mosley and Hoya.
tbh there will always be someone out there that he will need to fight. lets say cotto won and he fought cotto and mayweather won that, there will be another fighter that floyd has to fight. its how the sport works.
I think Cotto has a good chance assuming that he can come back strong from this fight and didn't have too much taken out of him. But I also have to say that Paul Williams is a nightmare for anyone at this weight, Margarito and Floyd Mayweather included.
