It's pretty much the first time Wilder will be fighting someone who is a lot bigger than himself. In the face off you could tell Fury was just a much bigger man. I'm not sold on Fury's reflexes and footspeed right now so his best option might be to actually try and close Wilder down and smother him at close range. Wilder's probably gonna be like 218lbs so if Fury comes in at 250 AND is able to make Wilder miss from range and then lean all over him up close he MIGHT BE able to sap Wilder. Wilder's faced heavier opponents before but never taller and heavier so they can actually lean over the top of him and make him feel that weight difference. High risk but I think if Fury tries to box at range and Nick it on points Wilder will eventually find that long right hand. An ugly, mauling, spoiling type approach may actually be the better option.
He was underweight for the Ortiz fight and had flu and stil got through the awkward style of Ortiz. Granted fury will have the better reach, but both are unorthdox and use good feints and so it will be very interesting. I don't think the weight will be a factor rather if Fury can keep his discipline to stay on the outside, but he's been talking about slugging it out in order to go for the ko against Wilder as he believes the boxing faithful have had enough of boxing masterclasses. Which tells me he might actually attempt to stand toe to toe and trade with Wilder. It sounds preposterous but look at floyd. No one believed him when he said he would go for the knockout against Conor and yet he did.
In the ring after the fight, they seemed the same height, Fury doesn't look 6'9, he might have a slight reach advantage though. I wouldn't take the weight advantage as a big advantage for Fury either because he looks sluggish and Wilder coming lighter gives him stamina and speed advantages.
He is bigger, ambidextrous, a master boxer, throws better combos, and has the experience of beating a real champ, and a great one at that.
Wilder was in dress shoes and Fury had just done 10 rounds. I'd say fury is 6'8" wilder 6'7". As far as the weight not helping him because Wilder's quicker at lighter weight, Fury was around 250 v klitschko and was at least equal to Wilder speed wise.
What, go for a ko against an mma guy lol...I honestly cant understand anyone talking about that fight as a gauge..Two actors performing for WWE fans imo. Anyone that thinks the fight wasn't rigged suffers with learning difficulties that needs addressing
To be fair I think Fury is almost certainly 6'9. I saw him a couple of years ago whilst out shopping and was stood next to him at one point. I'm 6'3 and I looked like a small child stood next to him!
I think Furys convinced himself and boxing fans that he has atg skills and he just has to polish things up and hes back on track..I think he's deluded at this stage. Hearing him talk and seeing him perform confirms that for me
I don't know what you mean by bigger, but it can mean someone who is fat or someone who is muscular, both can be heavy. Wilder is ripped, muscly, very low body fat guy whos all fast twitch where his size has nothing to do with his power. He threw Ortiz around the ring like a ragdoll, he's effing strong. I'm the same, I can throw guys twice my weight easily, I'm all fast twitch, it has nothing to do with your weight. Tyson is mostly flab, he's physique is a joke compared to Wilder. Infact Wilder's best asset is he's athletic physique, Tyson just has reach and is tall.. but Wilder nullifies those advantages. Long story short, no Fury ain't much bigger than Wilder... just flabbier and carrying dead weight.
Nah son Look at the two of them stood next to each other, Fury has the bigger chest, bigger back, bigger shoulders, bigger hands. Wilder is strong for his size but he's also a VERY slenderly built guy. He weighs less than David Haye whos 5 inches shorter and haye is hardly lugging around excess bodyfat is he
I'm suprised you think Wilder is slender, the guy has great proportions, very lean and muscular. His back/deltoids/upper body is just hench. Yeah I see the barrel flabby chested Tyson in the head to head, width wise and frame aint much different, maybe Tyson big bone'd would explain how he made 360 pounds at his height. Wilder's legs are skinny as **** though, so he's carrying more size upstairs, but at 214 pounds he threw the stockier 245 pound ortiz around like he was a child.
