1st Hopkins telling anyone who would listen that he was a legend, now Oscar is using it like its going out of style to.Im my opinion a legend is someone who fights( OFTEN) wins sometimes easily and sometimes dramatically but all the while he still pushes forward and FIGHTS..HE takes on the best opposition and makes sure that in the end his management knows who the fighter is and what the fighter wants( ala Paterson/Liston).Here are my examples of people who i beleive to deserve the moniker of Legend......

    1. SUGAR RAY ROBINSON
    2. Joe Louis
    3. Jack Johnson
    4.Rocky marciano
    5.Muhammed Ali
    6.Willie Pep
    7.Carlos Monzon
    8.Ray Leonard
    9. John L.Sullivan
    10. Floyd Paterson

there are more but u guys fill them in and what did they do that made them Legends.......:rasta

Oscar is a legend if not for his fighting which I believe he is but he is easily a legend for his drawing power. When DLH fights it is a occasion not just a fight.

i think b-hop qualifies as a legend-20 middleweight defenses, continuing to fight and beat elite fighters past the age of 40. but i think part of the reason hopkins gets considered as a legend is because he has an old school feeling to him ala sugar ray robinson, archie moore, etc.

No a legend in the context of boxing is someone whose boxing prowess has reached almost mythical proportions through tale alone. Bernard Hopkins is not a legend, DLH is not a legend

    Roy Jones is legend

i agree i don't think hopkins qualifies as a "legend" as say mike tyson does. you gotta do some unbelievable stuff to be a legend and do things like few if any have done. other than fight at a high level into his early 40's that's about all hopkins has done in such a fashion IMO. hopkins and dlh are great but not legends IMO.
