Tough fight (if Vargas forces himself on Loma), but because he emphasises boxing more than a Salido, Loma will take this easier probs. But it can potentially be a very tough fight.

 

Based on what we just saw, Loma would surgically dismantle and stop Francisco. All there is to it, really.

Vargas is too orthodox. It was the outside-the-box (and outside-the-books) tactics Salido used on a Loma that hadn't yet acclimated to the pro game that gave him trouble.

Yeah I agree. Salido is always difficult to read for the boxers of this sport. He had his way with a prime Marquez in the throughout latter half of their fight and was turning the fight around vs Mikey.

Salido's a tough SOB and I'm a big fan. I don't fault him for making it a rough fight, how else can he beat a truly great boxer?

 

I liken it back to the old days- Fritzie Zivic was never going to out-talent Henry Armstrong, but the ol' dirty SOB used every trick in the book (and some that weren't) to pull out the W. It took Hank, an ATG by any definition of the word, three times to finally best him. Had the fights never happened, how do you think people today would vote on a fantasy fight between them? Only the trolls would vote for Zivic.

Salido came up the hardest way, and is the modern day version of Fritzie. You may out-talent him. But man, be ready for a fight, and be ready for anything. There's nobody better for your fighter to get seasoning against, but you'd better hope he doesn't get wrecked in the process.

 

Very good post, definitely right, there. Salido truly is the modern day Zivic. Zivic was a tough, dirty SOB but I can't hate on him for it tbh.
Zivic was P4P one of the very roughest, toughest guys in the sport. If it can happen to a GOAT in Armstrong, it can happen to all.
