I think we can say this about Marquez and Pac...

They really are on even terms, overall. Kinda the same way MAB and Morales were...they just can't seem to really convincingly outdo the other...

I must one of the very few that find Pacquiao quite uninspiring to watch and rather boring. Take away all the bopping up and down and movement he seems a rather one dimensional fighter and who just throws quick left hands every now and then. I prefer watching Marquez.

I agree. Two fights, both even. Pac might get the general legacy nod because of the four KDs, but those who remember will know that Marquez proved to be his equal.

There should clearly be a third fight here.

Also remember when you rank JMM, MAB and Morales...against their greatest opponent (Pac), Morales beat him and showed to be on the same level, and JMM has shown to be on that level too, while MAB was beaten handily both fights. And also beaten by both Marquez and Morales.

I wish there would be, but it's pretty much been decided already that Pac is leaving 130 for good. I'm afraid his days as a PfP fighter are over, even if he gets by the middling David Diaz.

Even if I'm right, he's had a hell of a run.

totally agree.... neather one truly seperates from the other imo. Marquez edges sometimes with his skill, Pac edges sometimes with his physicalness, lol, you know what i mean ;)

Pac beat JMM last night in a fantastic and close fight. PAC consistently answered after Marquez had success. Juan would dominate a round and then get beat the next. Pac never allowed JMM to take over.

Just as I predicted, Manny's improvements allowed him win enough rounds while avoiding the counters and the KD made a difference.

Great fight, hats off to both men and yes these 2 are very close to even, but Pac's force is slightly ahead.

they are pretty even head to head with Pac edging out JMM ever so slightly but styles make fights and JMM's style is perfect against a guy like Pacquiao.

Well last night proved that these guys match up well with their styles. I prefer the better pure boxer/puncher in Marquez and hope to see a 3rd fight. Marquez has had a good carrer but his resmue should look better with a win over John and what I saw a close win over Pac. JMM's record does not reflect how great a fighter he really is.

Marquez' style and boxing ability make him a tough out for Manny. Marquez seems to be the better technician and overall boxer while PAC seems to edge him on the physical side being bigger stronger and faster. The decisions have all been rather inconclusive and well their styles make for very close matchups.

I agree that there should be a third fight here.

And I disagree that this men are on even terms like Morales or Barrera. Morales and Barrera have similar legacies, while Pacquiao is clearly ahead of Marquez in accomplishments -though not toe to toe.

Brilliant fight! Would love to see a 3rd, but it might not be in the cards. Pac was just stronger and younger, a great in his prime, and has improved dramatically...JMM is a bit past his prime, but fought a near-perfect fight. Pac really showed some grit to work through that bad eye in the 8th. JMM also proved, once again, that he has the heart of a lion, by weathering a few really bad moments. How many fighters can get nailed by Pac, like he did, and not only survive, but work their way back into a position to win? These two really bring out the best in each other!

I had the fight even: 6-5-1 for JMM, minus a pt for the kd; I had the 1st rd even. No one I watched the fight with griped about the decision, some disappointment, yes, but how can anyone argue the point? Great night for boxing.
