I think we have all being overestimating Dereck Chisora.

Going into the fight with Haye I certainly gave Chisora a chance, I saw him as a good puncher who, if he caught Haye, could have him on the canvas. Providing he avoided Haye's combos and used his feet well to get in and out he stood a chance in my book.

On reflection Haye was the quicker boxer, he was undoubtedly technically better and was the stronger, Chisora landed a few good shots but Haye took them and smiled, when Haye connected properly Dereck fell.

Chisora now has a record of 15-4, looking at the names he beats the stand outs are probably Sam Sexton and a 37 year old Danny Williams who had already lost 8 times going into that fight. For somebody who has been in with Vitali, Haye and Helenius that's rather poor.

Whilst many believe he was robbed against Helenius it was a relatively close fight against a guy who has been heavily protected by his promoters. Chisora lost comfortably to Tyson Fury, a man who again has beaten whom exactly so far in his career? I don't buy into this he was overweight stuff because if he can't get himself to a weight he wanted to be at for a big fight on domestic TV he shouldn't be a pro boxer.

At the end of the day Chisora needs to win 3-4 fights against domestic level fighters before he can even consider another big-ish fight. Good luck to the guy but I think we all bought into his chances against Haye a bit too much to try and get us more excited for the fight.

Fair enough he was stopped in 5 rounds.

But if you watch the first 5 rounds, he put David Haye under more pressure than Wladimir Kiltscko.

Haye was probably hit by Chisora more often aswell. Aginst Wladimir Kiltshcko, they where both weary of each other and David Haye was just slightly baffled. p against Chisora he was in a actual fight....

Styles make fights, and like i stated weeks ago.

"This fight was always going to end in a KO/TKO"...

I think Derek Chisora will face David Price next, and break his ribs....

And then start eating him alive, in the middle rounds....

Yep, What a lot of people went on was Chisora taking Vitali's punches. But Haye's power is different to Vitali's. His punches are different, and he's a smaller man so less target for Dereck to hit.

It was never going to be a win for Chisora, even when Haye looked tired i felt at ease knowing the more Chisora chased him the more he would open himself up.

Levels apart, Chisora did well but just isn't good enough at that level. Doesn't have the power to make his style pay. Plus when you get inside for flipsake fight!. He's another one of these pressure fighters who big themselves up about how they bring it then wanna take rests on the inside when they spent the last 2 minutes trying to get close!.

Too many fools keep going on about how he would have beaten Fury had he been in shape. Fury beat him fair and square and would do so again. Let it go.

No we didn't all bought into chisora's chances, I and many others have always said Haye were levels above him and would KO him in 7 rounds (my prediction) and I had big money on the stoppage for haye. If I haven't had lost over £2k over the last football season I would of had more money than the £950 I did have on haye via stoppage. I actually had another £110 on via skybet but those ****ers return my bet due to being 'reduced' to 10 rounds. I have to admit my heart was pounding with nerves and excitement due to the wager I had on as I really couldn't afford to lose (silly I know) but by the end of the 3rd round I was much more relax knowing haye was in control and would eventually stop chisora.

If anyone actually follow haye's career and see how he boxes and look at his record will know he has a very high chance of stopping chisora, 85% KO ratio. Delboy did pressure haye and made him work harder than he normally would. All I gave chisora was a puncher's chance at HW, he also proved if not already, he has a very good chin.

    This.

I said it all along, how is Chisora going to win this? He went the distance with Paul Butlin, i mean he had stopped nobody of note, even Sexton he needed a barrage of power shots to put out while he was gassed, and suddenly he can beat stop Haye, who can easily avoid punches for 12 rounds if he choses to

The whole "he took vitali's shots" thing was laughable as well, I said all along he would be taking shots flush on the chin, you don't want to be taking shots flush on the chin off David Haye.

People let their hate of David Haye cloud the fact that this was a World Class guy against A tough Domestic Class guy, and the styles in this one did NOT favour Chisora's style.

People saying "If Chisora can take Haye's right hand for 8 rounds, he can get to him late"

    :patsch

NOBODY can take Haye's right hand for 8 rounds, if you are the type of fighter he can land on with any sort of regularity, and you DON'T have the ability to fire back with anywhere near the same sort of power, you are going down like a sack of ****.

Yep, lots of people were caught up in the hype. I just couldn't see how anyone could think Chisora could win. Maybe, just maybe he had the chin and workrate to make Haye gas and just scrap a points win but still thought that was highly unlikely.

It was the people predicting a Chisora stoppage who were the craziest, I mean this guy had only really stopped Sam Sexton.

His chin was overrated too, Helenius really hurt him as did Sexton.

Credit for taking those shots though, brutal stoppage.

Even though Chisora is a British/Euro level fighter he still has time to develop and hone his style. I'm not sure if he could ever split up with Don Charles which could be an issue going forward.

I was impressed with Chisora on Saturday because he said he was going to try and push David Haye- something that he undoubtedly did. As I've stated before, it's finally clicking with Del that the public will get behind him as a boxer and not a lunatic. I am also impressed with his behaviour on Saturday- he obviously is getting help to keep his anger under control now.

I never thought Chisora was much of a fighter.

But I think Chisora is Haye's best HW win. He was a young, hungry, durable opponent, coming off a couple of good distance performances against world-rated opposition.

I think people over-estimate Haye's other HW wins.

:deal Bar a few scares which i think the commentator over exaggerated Fury was comfy beating Chisora like a pig.

Fury said rightly ''yeah and i was fat as well!''. People make excuses for this guy all the time. As you say let it go!.

The fact remains is that he hit David Haye more than Wladimir Kiltschko.

He hit Haye, with more shots, and pressured him more.
