The recent fiasco involving boxer Jared "Big Baby" Miller turning down a title fight eliminator because it was to be held in Bulgaria makes me appreciate the way things are done in the UFC even more. Fantastic card headlined by Miocic vs Cormier that is likely to be a very special contest between two of the best! It's one of those matches where the outcome is impossible to envision. The rest of the card is exciting and the recent addition of Paul Felder just makes for a more exciting evening.

The fight I'm looking forward to most is Holloway-Ortega.

It's a excellent card, one of the best of the year on paper.

It's so hard to pick imo. Ortega is deadly on the ground, the best in mma imo, and he is also good in his standup as shown in the Edgar stoppage.

If forced to pick I would probably say Holloway due to his extra experience in big fights/5 rds.

    Whats your pick ?

I agree it's incredibly difficult to pick a winner in that one but I will go with Ortega. The way he almost decapitated Edgar was impressive and I see him landing something similar on Holloway.

Brian is 5'8 compared to 5'11 for Holloway.

He doesn't have gas tank problems does he? I'm not all that familiar with him.

I don't believe so but as you said earlier Holloway can do a strong five rounds so if Ortega can't stop him during the first three rounds, advantage Max.

Ortega looks taller than 5'8 imo. I'd say he's about 5'10. Both guys really struggle to get down to 145. Both will be fighting at 155 over the next few years.

I think it's Ortega's frame which gives him the impression he's a couple of inches taller than he is or UFC heights are all wrong like Eddie Alvarez is 5'7'' in real life but billed as 5'9''. He's a short dude. McGregor looked two inches taller than him and he's 5'9''.

I think Holloway will be winning with his offense and speed then eventually he gets trapped and subbed.

Miocic will beat Cormier by knocking out Cormier or creaking out a decision in a close fight.

Ngannou will either knockout Lewis or lose a decision. I think it's a three rounder? Not sure. I think Ngannou's chin is iron. Lewis's chin isn't relative to the heavyweight division.

    Chiesa will beat Pettis.

Rountree might shock Saki as his style may be a problem for him.

I'm pretty surprised that Felder vs Perry is on the early prelims and Vannata vs Klose. I think they derp'd putting that on the early prelims but i guess the fight pass has to offer something.
