I think when you're an experienced boxer, you appreciate the fact that technique comes in different forms and not just in the backpedal and counter package. In fact, my temperament is to be aggresive and go for the KO, but at the same time I don't have the best chin so often I fight on the back foot because its a lot safer and easier to execute your "techniques".

A guy coming at you swinging, and you're on the backfoot ready to counter, that is a lot easier to do than come forward, throw shots whilst trying to avoid the oncoming shots. Not only that, a jab would stop whatever combinations I had in mind, yet alone a solid right hand, yet we see fighters slip a punch on the way in, get hit by another and still be able to execute what punches they planned to do.

Doing what Wlad does boxing off the backfoot specially with that reach and height advantage is a lot easier than what someone like Tyson had to do. Defending whilst attacking is just a whole lot tougher than simply defending and then attacking when an opportunity presents itself.

I box but I disagree slightly.

I like watching Ward and Rigo most of the time, because they're technicians but they're actually trying to hurt their opponent. When Ward fights dirty and totally shuts down the fight it can be irritating, because he could use that time/effort to hurt the guy. When Rigo clearly has control and could force the issue to stop the guy but doesn't, that gets on my nerves.

Mayweather is just not entertaining at all imo. I can appreciate how good he is, but he fights to not lose. I like guys who go in there with the goal to hurt their opponents.

sure I enjoy a guy with superior technique using it to destroy their opponent, or a guy using his skill and closing the show.

What I cant stand is a guy playing keep away and nullifying his opponent While hardly engaging at all and every round looks the same which bores me to tears.

I wonder if you feel the same about Vlad K and Vitali. This usual kind of drivel is biased.

Why has every thread on the site has to turn into some re****ed thing about favorite fighters and race and ****. Were grown men. Of course i feel the same about the Klit bros. Great fighters who know how to completely nullify their opponents offense and beat them down.

I missed the part where I was supposed to display knowledge :huh My bad.

Mayweather does stuff that is impossible for most fighters to do. I, however, do not like to watch him because he fights to pick up rounds and avoid getting hit while playing tag with his opponent. He rarely tries to seriously hurt them, pile up damage, press his advantage, or force a stoppage.

Rigo and Ward are also guilty sometimes, but they beat up their opponents and are mean to them most of the time.

I hope you understand what I mean, because I deeply care about your opinion and you are special to me.

Agree with this 100%. Guys who appreciate the brawling are the ones who have never stepped foot in the ring and dont know the technical nature that comes when boxing

I think a common misconception here is that a "technician" must fight all orthodox-like and have low output...which imo isn't true.
Just because Martinez fought weirdly (you know what i mean) doesn't mean he wasn't a technician in his own right. He could counter punch very nicely, had great ring movement, crisp punches, a nice ****nal which he could switch up Just because someone's fast and not so boring doesn't automatically equate to "non-technician."
You'll rarely find someone like Martinez.

I like to think on this site that the more you post the more likely you've never boxed a day in your life.

my boxing experience makes me appreciate all kinds of boxers. Also makes me respect guys like Broner that took a beating from a world class slugger and still maintained composure.

It's quite obvious that you are unaware of what the word knowledge means or you wouldn't have made that statement. It's also painfully obvious that you don't watch Mayweather's fights or you wouldn't have made the second statement. Mayweather, along with 99% of fighters are trying to end a fight as soon as possible. I have never seen Mayweather carry a fighter. If he doesn't stop them it's because the opportunity didn't present its self or the guy could handle his punches.

Same with Ward, Rigo, Canelo, GGG, Pac or any fighter out there. Power levels make a difference but the intent is the same.
I know you were being sarcastic with that last statement but you got my opinion whether you like or not.
