I Thought Ali Won The F.o.t.c.

The only 1 of their series I think Morales has a case for is fight 2

 

And after Ali-Frazier II he wrote "... I looked over at Sam Taub's scorecard and it read the same as mine - Frazier: 9 rounds, Ali: 3"

 

I love smokin joe but no way he won the second fight.

 

True, but only becouse Ali was allowed to stick to Joe like an octopus

 

Joe never regained the quickness and sharpness he had in that first fight. He improved after his loss to Foreman and came damn close to winning the title back but he was never the same fighter he was on March 8 1971.

 

This man had the fight scored perfectly.

My opinion on this fight changes often. I have come to the final conclusion that Frazier won the fight. It was very close, though.

 

Even if Ali outlanded frazier he never got points deducted for verbal abuse and his "clinching" (head pulls/arm holding).
Sounds about fair.

 

Ali didnt outland Frazier.

Frazier made him miss more jabs than he had ever missed before in 3 fights. Ali did score some nice combinations but Joe was beating Ali to the body and landing that Lefthook alot.

Also Joe Frazier`s punches had more effect. He hurt Ali pretty bad about 5 times.

I think David Tua vs Ike Ibeabuchi was the true fotc.
Powerpunches were thrown like they were juiced up welterweights.

 

You thought Ali won the F.O.T.C.?...yeah,...and then you woke up. Frazier did the fighting that night...Ali couldn't do anything with him...so he played against the ropes...waved to the crowd...threw pitty-pat punches...talked to Joe...then took a beating in the 11th round...almost went down...then got floored with a big left hook in the 15th...yeah,Ali won that night!!!

 

It goes to show you how biased a true fan can be.....we can look at a fight and give our guy the best benefit of the doubt and not see anything the other guy is doing.....I personally can not see anyway Ali could have won that fight in fact Frazier rocked him badly in the 11th and dropped him in the 15th and pretty much landed the harder punches most of the other rounds.....I remember people saying Ali won but it was delusional .......but a fan can see it through rose colored glasses....In my case when I watch a guy Im rooting for in my heart I see everything he is doing wrong so I always play the devils advocate but it is what it is...some fights are close..FOTC was not

 

Ali landed at will on Frazier for most of the fight. Frazier's face was a swollen mask by the end of it. I can see why some people think Ali won the fight.
