I thought Bellew was disappearing to become “Anthony” ?

To be fair I'd say even the old Sky lineup of McGuigan, McCrory and Watt were galaxies ahead of the current shills, and that includes the truly awful ones in BT. Neither of the three I mentioned were afraid to go off-script if the home fighter was getting bettered. You don't have to have been a pro boxer to be a good commentator, but the difference in analysis is clear when you compare say an Adam Smith or Rawlings to what Haye or Lennox Lewis say.

 

I honestly think I preferred Fowler losing to Bellew losing. He's THAT much of a bellend.

 

I did too - something totally dislikeable about him. No self awareness, undeserved sense of arrogance and thick as a plank to boot.

 

Fowler is a grade A plum. His arse licking of Eddie Hearn is embarassing on all levels. How someone can be that up his own promoters arsehole, I'll never understand. I don't even think Eddie responds to the melt half the time. Actually scratch that. I just remembered who he learnt it from. Tony Bellend Bellew. The original fake.

The beating he took off Fitzgerald should have humbled him but it hasn't at all. He's replies to every negative comment about him and then posts a gym selfie of himself captioning it.. "I Don't Let The Haters Win" or something cringy like that. Tosspot.

 

I can understand you not liking him, but he hardly took a beating from Fitzgerald, it was a SD and the knockdown won it for Fitzgerald. They both deserve credit for taking that fight so early in their pro careers.

 

I remember the amount of comparisons Fowler got to Froch too.

 

That's all true. He comes across as deeply insecure. Can't take any legitimate criticism, sees anyone who doesn't give him total praise as a 'hater', hides behind the old 'anyone who hasn't boxed professionally doesn't really understand the sport' thing too.

Tried - very unconvincingly - to show some humility after his defeat. It was so insincere and shallow though.

 

It's a common theme amongst boxers from Liverpool. Paul Smith is like that. Bellew is like that. So is Fowler.
