or they know what ring generalship is, a jab landing more then any punch anybody else was throwing that fight. slipping punches (cannelo slipped some to but Cotto was dodging alot of his punches) then know whats up.

Im sure they know how to score a fight better then you and guess what? they closer to me then you so dont say im the only with that score card.

you probably thought Canelo beat Lara too??? hell nah :lol:

There are a lot of conflicting scorecards out there which suggests the fight was close, much closer than the official scorecards. Anyone having either fighter ahead by a big lead was either inebriated when they watched the fight or allowed the poor commentary to sway their opinion or simply doesn't know how to score a fight.

Canelo won, but only just, he clearly did the more damage and at the end of it Cotto definitely looked like the beaten man but the actual fight was close. Canelo's lack of work rate will always see him give away rounds by simply not doing enough and result in close fights like this fight and the fights with Lara and Trout.

In my opinion, Canelo wasn't impressive, from a technical stand point, against Kirkland. He looked spectacular in regards to shots landed and the obvious KO punch, but he looked more basic than he has done in other fights; covering up with a high guard until Kirkland stops punching then unloading with his own shots.

In the Cotto fight he was more technically impressive; greater variety of shots, upper body movement, better transition from defence to offence and actually slipping shots rather than just statically blocking them. His jab was to infrequent and he didn't cut the ring off, but then again, he didn't need to in most peoples eyes who scored the fight for him.

Cotto, whilst backing off and dancing around for most of the fight, he still comes at you when launching his attacks so Canelo didn't really have to go looking for him all that much. Canelo could use his timing to counter Cotto's assualts. This is were Cotto, fighting in the manner he did here and in a similar fashion in the Margo fight, differs to someone like Lara; Cotto is not a back foot counter puncher. He dancers away to get his range or out of trouble and will then lauch his own attacks on the front foot. He didn't lay many traps for Canelo like Lara did and instead, especially late on, stood in front of Canelo too long doing nothing at all.

Did Canelo look like the heir apparent to Floyd? No. But, despite some pretty amateurish mistakes, he still looked pretty good.

I don't know what's worse? Your score card, or the fact that you can't spell the words "a lot"...

Cotto hit like a girl. Canelo clobbered him all evening.

One of the most overrated fighters around. Beaten down by everyone half decent.
When I hear the name Cotto I see Pacquiao strafing him with those machine guns shots.

At least we don't have to hear "Cotto" anymore. Or hopefully less.
