I don't know about those other guys you mentioned, but DLH did say himself in the aftermath of the first fight that he wanted to finish his career with exciting fights and that this rematch wouldn't qualify as such. Now i'd like to think that his competitor's heart made him take it anyway, bit i'm inclined to think that the amount of good business it would do for his GBP company had more to do with it.
he wasn't ever scared, but he realized "holy **** I can make about 50mil and lose again" Must be nice when you know the risk, result, and still get a HUGE REWARD for it
i posted a comment on this in the other thread.... all the haters dissapear all these ppl that think they kknow boxing an fighters ...to say dlh is scared of PBF is ridiculous ... he fought big ass hopkins why would he be scared of floyd... i think in reality ppl jus know that dlh can beat floyd
Put the crack pipe down - he got utterly picked apart in the last fight, how it ended in a split decision is UTTERLY beyond me.
Rantings of lunatics aside, the very notion of DLH being "afraid" of PBF is ludicrous. Hit flush several times, Oscar hardly flinched the first time they fought. And Oscar certainly isn't afraid of the big bucks he'll get in the rematch. For Oscar a rematch with Floyd is the best fight for the most money. For fans like me, it sucks that Floyds wasting our time with another foregone conclusion.
He lost. Fight was not as one sided people like you make it out to be.Fight was close going into the 9-10 rounds.Though Floyd won more rounds he didnt come close to truly beating up Hoya.
I just can't honestly score the fight close by watching it objectively and repeatidly. I've probably watched and tried to objectively score the fight 6 or 7 times. DLH moved forward and applied pressure, but wasn't the ring general. DLH didn't land nearly clean or effectively enough for me to consider his punching accurate/precise. I guess its just my opinion, but i don't see how it wasn't a UD by a varying 4-7pt margin on all three judges.....just me.
Well, when there is 30 million to be had, it's hard to be "scared" of a guy who won't even hurt him let alone try to hurt him. :dance :mj
yeah, oscar is scared to make about $40 million to fight a smaller guy who didn't even put much hurt on him last time in 12 rounds and fought cautiously.
he shouldn't be take the easy cash cow loss its a total no brainer, despite how much it pisses off boxing purists, and people who want to see the top talent fight the top contenders...... I'm pretty sure if any of us were in DLH or PBF's shoes we'd make the same choices
